I have no idea how turnover will be. I can imagine people not going yet because they've already been when the Land opened so they'll wait a bit more before coming. Or they'll wait a few weeks to grab christmas/ny at disney

special effects ARE practical effects *facepalm*
—not to mention, as impressive as the ballet of technology is, this doesn’t use any major individual element Disney hasn’t already had in other parks around the world. The trackless tech, projection maps, scrim-based “blasts,” etc. come from plenty of Disney rides in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Shanghai.

It’s the combination that makes this wonderful, but it’s also what causes operational problems.

Fastpass+ lowers operational efficiency. Their words, not mine.

“With FP+, we won’t have to keep building attractions because we can control guest flow by staffing rides and capping capacity based on the day’s attendance projections. We can control queue lengths to keep guests contained within their ride reservations, kind of like a cruise ship.”

“Not using the OT in Galaxy’s Edge was our Billion-Dollar Mistake.”

— also their words, not mine. ;)

I hope FP+ never comes to SWGE. Hey, that would keep things thematically correct! Citizens of Batuu wouldn’t understand what a FP is—right?

It's like The Amazing Adventures Of Kylo Ren. As in, it looks like The Amazing Adventures Of Spider-Man on steroids.

And before anyone gets bent out of shape at that comparison, comparing this new ride to what many consider to be one of the world's greatest attractions...on steroids is not a bad thing.

Spiderman is still a great ride. If someone wants to call this Spiderman on steroids, I would be happy with that description!
It has taken Disney long enough to implement this tech in the Florida parks.

I highly doubt the timeline choice has anything to do with the low attendance at Galaxy's Edge.... I would be surprised if people beyond these types of forums even know about it...

Marking this as a spoiler just to be safe, but I have a question for those who have watched the vids...

What happened to the part where Kylo runs at the car from down the hallway? I know that was part of a leak, but didn't posters mention having seen the effect in person and testifying to how incredible it was? Did I just miss in the video?

Regardless of the above, it truly looks incredible. A+++++++

It is more like Kylo walking towards you with his lightsaber. It is right after the scene with Kylo and Hux, right before the lightsaber through the ceiling gag.

Do you realize this increases capacity and the chance you get to ride it? FP+ is not the same thing as classic paper FP, and you can run a search on these boards to learn why.
How does it decrease actual ride capacity?

The touchpoints are a slower process than collecting a piece of paper but typically that's well before ride dispatch. It might require more man power to operate an attraction, but I wouldn't think it decreases throughput.

Absolutely they are. Wound licking and bouncing back up.
Makes sense: they've had some bad or mediocre feedback so far and needed to drum up interest again. Plus they were confident in how the ride looks (with reason) so they felt they could afford to reveal the show as it wouldnt put people off.

Things like rollercoaster, I feel, are riskier to show a movie off because the fun of it requires being there more, whereas this ride you can sort of have an idea of how fun it'll be by the film (which i had previously said i hadnt watched but cave in and did)
