Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

I think the question is the difference between brand presentation and availability. At Potterland you can ask if cola is available and purchase it--there's just no name or logo on the signage. I wonder if there will be an ATM in SWL or perhaps in an alcove by the restrooms (like the ATM in the stockade in DL Frontierland entrance). And the Cantina can always list a beverage specialty in the table menu featuring "an exotic combination of extract of the cola berry and coca leaf imported from across the galaxy" or "combination of yellow and green citrus flavors". It will be interesting to see.

The are absolutely no sodas available anywhere in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, period. Ask all you want, you’re gonna have to leave the land.

Lemonade and fizzy orange are both considered "sodas" in the U.K. Not sure what you'd call them? They may not be branded, but they're still soda as far as I'm concerned. YMMV.

How could lemonade be soda if it’s not carbonated? It’s lemon juice with added sugar pretty much right? That’s not soda.

Fizzy orange sounds like orange soda.

Lemonade to me is fizzy lemon. Like 7 up! And that's what I had at the Hogsmeade place - The Three Broomsticks. Home made lemonade won't be fizzy, but when you buy a bottle of lemonade in the UK it's fizzy.

There you go. They have UK drinks, not your standard big brand soda like Coke, Pepsi, 7-Up, etc. which is what everyone means by “you can’t get soda at Harry Potter.”

Potter pushes Butterbeer, so they probably for theme purposes don't want other brands in the land. Butterbeer really is not much more then Creme Soda at least taste wise. I guess it has some butterscotch and butter.

Will Alcatraz and Big Bird have single rider?

While not known for sure at this time, it's very very highly unlikely. WDW is down to only one to three rides with a single rider line. FoP was set up with a single rider line, but Ops isn't using it since they can yell down the line for fillers (like they do with Soarin').

For reference, this is the approximate ride space:

Sure looks like it! And it looks like it could be a two-story queue!
Alcatraz-1.jpg

My rebel spies report that the area in green is likely the Hanger Bay we have seen in renderings and the assumption is that guests will queue through the middle of the ranks of storm troopers. Before the exterior walls were applied, the angled walls on the sides were visible as was the frame in the wall at the top which would be the view out the portal into space. The purple is the rotunda that descends into the ground and is rumored to be the "shuttle" turntable that will be similar to the expanding room in Haunted Mansion. I'm not sure the blue area is entirely devoted to maintenance on both levels. I suspect that is not the case.

This is all rumor and conjecture. None of it is factual information I know first-hand. As always, no Bothans died in bringing this information.

This is not accurate, J.K. Rowling insisted that no soda would be sold in the land as it doesn't exist in the Harry Potter universe, not to promote Butterbeer sales.

Six of one, half dozen of the other, no matter where it came from it forces profit on those that are connected with the establishment and production of the product. Another Dime the Coke ain't gonna get!

You know you aren't part of the Star Wars universe when you read "Batuu" and immediately get excited thinking about Disney possibly referencing to Rock-a-Doodle....

Alcatraz will be a ride that's inspired by the old Universal Studios Hollywood Battlestar Galactica. Animated Cylons were mixed in with live action figures 'shooting' at the unsuspecting riders on the Trams. Their 'spaceship' later became the 'subway station' in the Earthquake attraction!

Wait a minute...when I was at Uni Hollywood circa 1990-91, the tram tour had both the subway earthquake (on the lower level) and a Cylon attack (on the road down from the upper level). This was well after anyone cared about the original Battlestar Galactica and well before anyone thought of the reboot.

Sorry, I must have been confused from dodging the rock slide, runaway train, parting of the sea and the PT Boat from McHales Navy!!!
