We are going the 9th - 15th of September, and while I know we are more than likely just in under the window to be included in a soft open- I can only hope we can be guinea pigs for crowd or something of that nature. I’m not a chosen one with a pass or DVC membership- but a Star Wars nerd can hope, right?

If you look at all promotions Disney has announced to date, including bounce back offers that have been out there since January, all offers end on 9/30 and restart in December. I would peg 10/1 as likely if you look at what they are doing promotions wise for 2019 so far. October and November are rack rate offerings. I am a TA so all real information. Just sharing my opinion

What have you seen for a promotion that begins in December? I had been hoping to go during the first week or so of December, but as a Canadian I haven't seen any promotions around that time yet.

The lack of promotions may not mean anything. According to Mousesavers, since 2015, Disney hasn't released any discounts for travel dates significantly after 10/1, until after the third week of April that year. So what we're seeing in 2019 is the same pattern we saw in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.

I agree with you but that’s Not true for bounce back offers

Also no AP blackouts beyond the standard dates. Of course if they did an AP blackout in September or October it might kill F&W.

Just curious...

Between the two Star Wars Land attractions, which do you think will be the bigger draw?

Everybody who loved Star Wars as a kid wanted to fly in the Millennium Falcon...so the name alone will probably draw people in moreso than the name of "Rise of the Resistance" but I feel that RotR is more of a full-experience whereas on the surface the MF ride seems like another simulator.

Personally I'm more excited for RotR.

All those not in the know will run to SR. Those in the know will go to the better attraction, RotR. It will take a lot of time before word gets out and disseminated through the masses that RotR is the better ride.

I'd agree with this, though if RotR is as impressive as we think it is, I'm not sure it will take that long for word to filter down. And RotR may benefit from being more visible than SR, especially at DHS since everyone will see/go past the RotR entrance first and that could influence folks to jump in line right away.

But it is nice to have a new land opening where both attractions will be E-ticket experiences worth waiting* for.

*Not that we have a choice BUT to wait for a who knows how many hours to ride...

The nonsensical shaman would like to have a word with you. Although you probably won't understand what he's yelling at you about.

I think during the initial years the novelty of being able to walk around in and pilot the Millennium Falcon is going to even out the crowds between SR and ROTR.

While ROTR is definitely going to be the better ride it will also focus on the Sequel Trilogy and its characters. While personally I'm a fan of the ST, there are some Original Trilogy purists (both die hard and casual fans) who may not be as interested in ROTR as they would be in a chance to pilot the Falcon.

I'm one of them.... First line I'm in is for the Falcon. Hope they nailed the ride concept so its fun for everyone on board.
