Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

Why didnt Disney reskin Star Tours in both parks simultaneously while this was being built? Even if it they kept it virtually the same in terms of layout and reskinning existing AAs would it have really cost that much? I guess the only conundrum is finding something that would fit both Tomorrowland and DHS. At the very least it would have helped crowds immensely at DHS.

I think rethemed or not, star tours would be slammed either way. Surge in guests will need something to do. Don't think changing would help alleviate crowds anymore than it will as it exists now unless it had been demo'd for some larger people eating attraction.

Exactly. They will have to open at least two more attractions before even thinking of closing Star Tours in my opinion. Likely Launch Bay gets reimagined next.

In truth, they don’t HAVE to replace both of them with the same attraction. I’m not even sure I get the sense that they’re aiming to.

Disneyland’s Tomorrowland has been in desperate need of a redo for 2 decades now, though I bet that they’re not itching to try that hot on the tails of Galaxy’s Edge - the park will need all the capacity it can get for a good while. When the day comes that they finally go at it I would hope that they take the opportunity to really define the land for a new generation, and I bet the space where Star Tours was will be ripe for filling with a major component of that. My hope is that they start from scratch rather than just reskinning the simulators, but who knows.

Hollywood Studios will have similar capacity issues with Galaxy’s Edge, but is beginning to arrive on the opposite end of its identity crisis (kinda) - so I would also assume that whatever goes there in a few years will also speak to the newly defined intentions of the park. If I were a betting man I’d wager that a reskin of the simulators is more likely here, but it seems trickier to find an overlay that’s different enough from Star Wars to justify the change AND suitable to the themes of both the new DHS and (hopefully) new Tomorrowland. Star Wars was a unique property that could get away being placed adjacent to Space Mountain, the Indy Stunt Show AND Muppet Vision — and that really only worked when the more liberal “Working Studios” theme was in place.

Yes please. Been a vegetarian since 1992 and I can’t get enough of the impossible burgers. They also make great taco and pizza meat. All my carnivorous friends that have tried them say they are delicious and some of them actually prefer them to a lot of the real burgers out there...though I would bet an exceptional real burger would still be preferred by most non vegetarians.
Yep, ground Impossible Burger is one of the protein options at Qudoba near me. I read that's a test for a national rollout.

Very excited for the new Star Wars land. The rides, shops...all of it. Unfortunately, I'm not excited for the next movie. Last Jedi punched me in the stomach and kept me from going to Solo in the theaters (Did see it on Vudu and now on Netflix, solid flick)....and I just can't get myself excited for the next movie. Still upset at the Last Jedi. OK..done venting.
Very very excited for the new Star Wars Land!

JJ's got this.

If JJ pulls this off and is able to make a satisfying completion to the Skywalker saga that began in Ep.1....He will be the man. I enjoyed TFA.
I just don't see how he can do it after the disaster that was the Last Jedi. He has his work cut out for him.
We shall see...at least we know the trailer will be awesome. I think this time I'll wait for the reviews from the fans on rotten tomatoes instead of trusting the professional movie critiques. Learned my lesson the hard way last time.

Well that might not work either. A lot of last jedi haters will bomb ep9 on rotten tomatoes as soon as they can, without seeing it, just because. I'd say you'll get a more balanced opinion on here over tomatoes.
Rotten Tomatoes did recently change their audience ratings system to stop people from giving fake positive or fake negative reviews. Have to see how that works out.
However I agree with the audience scores on these three films so they are doing something right. 44% audience score for Last Jedi, 87% audience score for Force Awakens. 59% for Phantom Menance.

I will never agree with all the hate for The Last Jedi
We all have opinions.... I will never be able to see why people like The Last Jedi. It seems unbelievable to me.
However, I enjoyed the prequels and I know there are those who dislike those stories. To each their own.
We can't help what we like or don't like....it just happens.
We are all excited about Galaxy's edge, that's what brings us to this board.

This. Extremely online Star Wars fans always seem to be in competition with each other to see who can justify hating the most Star Wars films.
We as audience members can't help what we like or don't like. I just happened to strongly dislike The Last Jedi.
Loved Force Awakens, Rouge One and recently saw Solo at home and thought that was solid flick.
Is what it is.

We all have opinions and a right to hold them, but in my experience most people who dislike The Last Jedi have largely weak and nonsensical arguments for why.

I enjoy the prequel‘s as well, but I don’t think I could justify putting them above the last Jedi. Their stories are great it’s their execution that is poor. They’re just not well-made films.
