That would depend on how you interpret that phrase. There is a school of thought that it is not meant to literally mean it is in our past. It doesn't really make a difference either way, no matter when it is set it doesn't have a connection to contemporary Earth.
It kinda has to be in the future past. Since to our knowledge none of it has happened yet. Of course, if it happened in a galaxy far, far away we probably wouldn't know about them, but they might know about us!

2019/2020- GOTG in Epcot
2020- new pavilion in the WS?
2020- Frontierland/Adventureland Expansion begins?
I'm thinking something like this:
2017- Avatar
2018- TSL
late summer 2019- Both mickey dark ride and SWL
2020- GOTG and possibly other new attractions in epcot (new WS pavilion?)
2021- New parade and fireworks show as well as fantasyland dark ride extensive refurbs like DL
2021- Finish whatever else they're putting into epcot

Project D is a very old name.

They're still aiming for mid - late 2019. Christmas 2019 is the all-else-fails goal.
Hi @marni1971! Thank you. So, like what is the new secret name then?

OMG, 2019 is going to be such a stressful and exciting year.

Again, thank you so much. XOXOXO

I posted about that in the DHS Permits thread back in August.
Hi @danlb_2000! This is totally nice. But, I don't read the permit thread which why you should also put all Star Wars information in this thread for me -- I mean everyone. If you don't, then I will be glad to do it.

I think 2020 will be all about Epcot and the Guardians of the Galaxy ride and preparing for MK's 50th anniversary in 2021.

I just hope Disney gives people enough time to plan for the Star Wars celebration in 2019. If anyone is just thinking about possibly visiting that year they should book a room as soon as possible.

It's not @danlb_2000 job to fix your laziness. I realize you were trying to be funny but it just doesn't come off that way. This forum is really what YOU make of it. The permit threads are the very first place you should look if you want to keep up on what's coming down the line. Many forum members, myself included, go to great lengths to keep forum members updated with the latest information on these projects for those who are not fortunate enough to either live nearby or be an insider. Please be mindful of this the next time you consider posting.

Would be nice to have a few years like 1998-2000 when multiple rides, shows and parades opened across all parks in a huge refresh for the millennium celebration.

I appreciate these projects cost money but the resort is seriously underdeveloped in areas, neglected in others and tired in parts. The underinvestment in attractions 2005-2015 requires investment done at the kind of pace where one project a year just isn't cutting it, even if it is a billion dollar land...and I say that because correcting 1 issue a year isn't addressing them fast enough, and allowing new issues to creep up.

Take next year as an example. Pandora will be awesome...completely and utterly incredible...but that's all that's planned across all 4 parks? So Epcot is already condemned to stagger into 2017 and probably 2018 looking like it is a decade behind in investment.

LOL. Your entire post is a bizarre contradiction. You fully acknowledge that I was just attempting to elevate the tone of this discussion by interjecting a little bit of levity. But, then you say it doesn't come off that way and call me lazy after you admit to knowing what my intentions were. You are not making any sense to me.

Regardless, it was only a joke. If you find that these conversations are stressful to you, then I implore you to utilize the tools that have been made readily available to you, such as the ignore feature.

I will deal with Dan - he can speak for himself. This forum is entirely self correcting, any misinformation is quickly challenged and put to rest -- which is why we can speculate. Not everything has to be facts.

And, I did not post bad information -- it was only a month old. That's all. Not everyone eats, sleeps and breathe Disney all day. And, it's obvious by the reaction here that many people were not aware of this. People were happy to have some confirmation of a timeline. I totally need another sabbatical.

It's not always clear which project a permit is connected to, and some permits are not connected directly to either one, so I put them all the DHS permits in one thread. Occasionally a permit will come along that is clearly very significant to one project or the other, and in those cases I will post in in the appropriate thread.

I really like the DHS permit thread. I have just 10 pages to find information compared to the 361 pages for SWL. Hopefully we will get more details on SWL at the next D23.

Since Serpico likes to talk in riddles, parables, and Swahili, I will try and decipher what was set forth in a recent discussion:
2017 - Avatar, Night Time Parade at MK
2018 - TSL, Shows at DHS (maybe)
2019 - SWL, GMR replacement, SGE replacement (may go into 2020)
2020 - EPCOT addition (s) (not World Showcase), Lengthy refurbs at MK
2021 - Wishes replacement, new addition to MK, potential new World Showcase Country, potential small add to AK, The phase 3 which is not a phase 3 to DHS all to be complete (ha ha) by the 50th.

The discussion did say some of the 2021 may finish in late 2020? As always, a full, unpackaged salt lick is required with these rumored dates. Still, more detail than previously provided.

Thanks for the info! Even if stuff doesn't come to pass, it is interested to hear about and have as a topic of discussion.

Question about what you posted: is the "night time parade" for MK a new build or one coming from somewhere else?

Very interesting info about that elusive phase 3/not phase 3 addition at DHS. Also will be interesting to see how much we got for Epcot besides GOTG. Thanks for the info

I believe the thought is to have as much, if not all of the current plans in place prior to the 50th. At least that is what I have been told. As for the parade, there was no real discussion on new versus 'borrowed'. If I were to read the tea leaves, it is going to be new.

I'll try and pick through and add later. I'm busy trying to have a magical day at the mo.

Harry Potter is also much easier since it has the convenience of simply having British food to be in theme.

Star Wars would be much more complex which makes it interesting to see how Disney tackles it.

They've introduced a fruit in the Rebels series, Meilooruns. Maybe they could cross breed some different plants and develop an equivalent? They could come up with some really unique and fun food for this land.
