Hi @IDInstitute! Thank you so much for posting this picture for me! Yes, I was totally confused. I thought that the rendering that Darth put up was totally new. My bad, LOL. And sadly, I can see that the budget cut rendering is still there. But, I am hopeful since the other picture is there, too. So, we'll see.

Hi @9112! I totally agree -- blue milk will not touch Butterbeer. But, it should be more popular than that weird purple foam apple juice at Gaston's though. LOL.

LOL. I think it's impossible for Disney to create an unattractive and barely themed land. Disney is over the top right down to the bathrooms. So, I am going to remain cautiously optimistic about Toy Story Land.

Getting back on topic to Star Wars Land.

I just learned that the secret name for Star Wars Land is "Project D" which also filed a notice of commencement for Star Wars land that expires September 2019. From BlogMickey.com

So, it looks like Star Wars land is on track to open either Summer or Thanksgiving of 2019!

I posted about that in the DHS Permits thread back in August.

I'd be much more okay with the grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, and veggies than burger & fries. That second option is a bit too American. An easy way to fix this would maybe just have picture representation on a menu with numbers assigned? I'm sure I'm overthinking all of this.

Idk what they're going to do about Coke products though. They really shouldn't be included on the menu SWL, but unless they brand them as "caffeinated beverages", I'm not sure what they'll do. The same goes for beer. I'm okay with it being sold (especially in a cantina), but I don't want to see 'Bud Light' on a Star Wars menu.
Why exactly couldn't there be Coke on another planet? Or beer? If these are planets regularly visited by humans in theory, one could easily assume that they would be able to serve food and drink those humans are accustomed to no? And with the money Coke spends here on Earth to be globally known, surely they would invest in galactic markets as well if given the chance?

Except Star Wars is set "a long time ago" not in the future.

Because the Star Wars universe is totally dis-connected from Earth, so having Earth products there would break the theming.

But this rule isn't something possible to live up to. Won't people walking around in t-shirts and Mickey Mouse ears already ruin this?
Yes and no? It isn't going to be a perfect illusion. Like, from what I've seen from HP at Uni, they were able to recreate a lot of the magic, but they couldn't control what people were wearing. I think people will be more interested in the details.
I'm really interested as to what they'll do with lightsabers. The wands at Uni are big sellers, and lightsabers could be too if they're decent quality. Seeing a foam lightsaber would be a little offputting.

It's not the best example, but how did The Star Trek Experience in Vegas handle their naming of the food? Since they are connected to Earth (being set in our future), they could get away with stuff named about Earth things, but I seem to recall the items were listed in a way to be exotic.

Edit: I found this link. I wouldn't be surprised if Star Wars has descriptions of food in the vein of this:

joseph sisko took this traditional klingon dish, added a light coating and fried them. earthlings consider them very close to boneless chicken wings. tossed with choice of sauce: spicy asian chili or buffalo style
