So TSL is looking like it got scaled back some, but that leads me to a general question about concept art.?
EPCOT Center in particular had art that was a virtual copy of what was finally built once designs were finalised. Look at art or models from 1979-80 and it's pretty much as was built.

It's rare for anything not to change during design, but you have to think that when the starting point isn't that high to begin with how can it be allowed to get lower.

One has to wonder why Skipper John hurled his body on Carsland to prevent changes that were going to happen - yet apparently his Primal Franchise he backs away from? Strange - huh!

The website map is more up to date than the pdf one. Here's a side by side:

I know we should not read too much into a picture on a construction wall but this picture of the coaster looks a lot less interesting than the original to me. Losing the trenches would speed construction but definitely take away from ride experience. This version also looks like it has fewer hills with potential mild air time. I actually thought the original concept looked like a pretty good ride.

Yeah, like @marni1971 said, Slinky Dog definitely looks like it's getting the 7DMT treatment here. I was also pretty optimistic about Slinky Dog, so I'm pretty disappointed in this change. It looks a LOT less immersive.

I was looking forward to the land being what seemed like Disney's best-yet attempt at the "you become small" concept, but for that to be successful, it really needs the proper details. It appears that in addition to the coaster trenches, a lot of the "toys" and props strewn around to create the feeling of being in "Andy's backyard" are no longer going to be there.

In order to still make the land visually successful and immersive, they have to find a way to make the coaster clearly look like it was made by a toy kit, e.g., with coaster track pieces on the ground, etc. I hope that will still happen.

People are jumping to conclusions that SWL is jumping to back section of the park ...

Honestly - I've been very suspicious of this for a while. It's not jumping to conclusions, it's mounting evidence.

Recent history suggests that we can stay in the dark for quite some time long after WDI has shifted the proposed slot (Toontown -> ROA). You'll note no single insider is currently committing 100% to the front location. In fact @MansionButler84 seems to be leaning to the back.

I'd say the possibility most of our info is 6+ months out of date is strong.

Is it possible SWL might be phase 2 & 3? Or a phase 2.5? The movies are a cash cow for the company. I would love an Indiana Jones themed land. That would be a fun land to explore:) is it confirmed TSL will only have 2 rides and nothing else? 10 acres is a lot of land to have just two rides.

It will have 3 the 11 acres to also include TSMM

Nah, there is one thing that could possibly mean that SWL is going to the back one little thing, and no its not on a construction wall in the back of DHS. It depends what part of the front location you mean - Echo Lake 0% if it is an attraction and part of parking lot then yeah 95%.

Considering they just started surveying SoA does that not strike you as odd....

Is Bob Weis' primary job to make WDI more efficient? Spending money is great, but you do need efficiency to get bang for your buck.
I'm growing more and more concerned that Iger and Chapek's ideas about cutting waste at WDI is becoming about cutting away what they consider to be unnecessary theming. "All the details take to long and cost too much, do we really need them?" I'm getting the sense from talking to a few people that have done contracted work with WDI that some true waste comes from indecisiveness and too many needless changes (only to revert back to the original way the paint/sculpture/etc. was done, or scrapping it entirely). I can see higher ups who aren't familiar enough with the real problems making the wrong decision though and just cutting the attention to detail altogether.

Which is why I believe Weis was put in charge. He knows how to run WDI properly, probably better than anyone...or so say those in the know on here.

Got it. Like SWL getting two rides a long with ST = three rides in the land.

OK, so now I think they are back to plan B from plan C. Which was a close alternate to plan A.

And they will never add a BTMRR or Space Mountain level coaster to a land clearly designed for children . Slinky dog had to go to weight watchers.

Finally, there is no way the studios get clone Carsland before Epcot 2.0.

Mini Carsland someday is remotely possible.

Kinda but I can't get any definitive info that, and it is a big IF that SWL is located in the back that ST would be counted as a third ride of a SWL it would be outside of the land.

There is more but I feel uncomfortable with saying some stuff at this moment in time.

1) BTMRR is the quintessential family coaster. This is like a six flags kids coaster, they removed all the characters and bits from around the track and removed the fake trenches to say some bang instead of tackling other parts of the budget.

2) There is no Cars Land in DHS/DHL/DHA/DCU/DCK ....

I wouldn't rule out any Pixar IP at this point. Notice I said mini-Carsland. Such a land would make it much easier to close the speedway at another famous park.

PS- BTMRR has a height requirement. Dwarf coaster is as edgy as it gets in a area designed for youngsters. The studios already have ToT and RnRC. Plus ST and new ST thrills. Needs balance.

Looks at the amount of "attractions" listed, just laughs.

Diagon Alley and King Kong are pretty much spot on with their concept art as well.
