Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

Its not? Any thoughts or suggestions on what that area is next to Toy Story?

1) The only 2 lands they have announced so far are TSL and SWL, Disney wouldn't let slip a phase 3 project until next D23.
2) It could be an IP based in south america such as Up if they wanted to continue on PIXAR alley or seen as Disney wants to get back in the IJ business and small mini land back there. Or it could be an enchanted forest to stuff Disney classic IP in Alice, etc.
3) They have just been surveying there so otherwise construction won't start for another 2 years.

Jumping to conclusions? Sure. But it's not flimsy. It's new concept art displayed at a construction site. And we have known something was going on with the DHS remodel for awhile. If anything, this is the first bit of concrete evidence showing SOMETHING will be built over LMA. Either we have a confirmed third land or a confirmed SWL move. Either case is significant.

Well Disney isn't going to show off evidence for a brand new project that hasn't been announced. The area is a construction staging area for the parking garages and TSL/STL

yeah, I just think if were going to accept that the concept art is legit in regards to the cuts coming to TSL and Slinky, then why would we not believe that the art showing what appears to be a new land as legit?

I think the trees in the SWL art look pretty similar to what we see in the new TSL art.

Because what people are thinking is SWL is outside the bounds of the land that is being depicted. The artist was painting Toy Story Land and could have just taken creative license to fill in an area that wasn't directly related to the project.

Yeah, the track layout of the Slinky coaster is significantly different. It looks like the lift hill has become a launch, the trenches are gone, and some theme elements are missing. And the restrooms were cut.

I was told the budget ax was coming to this project. I actually heard that this project was the last nail in Bruce Vaughn's WDI coffin.

I forgot to ask you about your last point. Why did Vaughn get axed because of this project? Because he cut too much from it?

They may have also wanted their most popular land to be at the far back of the park to make sure people will have to trek back there and then work their way back to the front stopping to shop and eat along the way.

And the Slinky Dog does indeed look like it's had the Seven Dwarves Coaster treatment:

I actually wouldn't have as big of a problem with this if TSL wasn't taking up so much damn land.

This. The concept art is for TSL. And "neighboring" lands are likely just artistic license to show "something" but the person doing this concept art isn't focused on that. This reminds me about the debate regarding the leaked Avatar plans and the boat ride path depicted -- it was clear the blueprints that were leaked were for the flying ride, so the boat ride images were just a placeholder to say "boat ride in this location" and don't reflect the actual ride path we now know about.

OTOH, I think that we can make conclusions about how TSL will turn out based on the new concept art.

I've tons of concept art of either things never built or edge of the intended area that's deliberately vague yet interesting - and was never built.
So TSL is looking like it got scaled back some, but that leads me to a general question about concept art. It seems like all original concept art for most every attraction ever built by Disney (and Uni and others) is more grandiose than what actually gets built. Books I have show art for projects like Thunder Mesa, etc. and the final attraction, no matter how great, usually is a scaled back version. In your opinion, is this the way it usually is...the concept art is creative 'blue sky' design, with little concern for budget, and then a budget is assigned and adjustments are made? If this is in fact the case, is the difference between now and 40-50 years ago, that we can get a look at early concept art (via 'leaks', Twitter, other media or even presentations such as D23), and are therefore aware of the changes?
