I’ve been saying all along that they’re going to gradually add in much of the stuff they cut. I believe we’ll continue to see more and more added, and everyone can stop whining about how they’re too dumb to realize the things the land needs.
While I never had much of an issue with the land ,I always felt it needed more. The land itself is pretty big and I would love them to.add a show and another ride .

Sinse we're spit balling, turn echo lake into Dagoba swamp with a crashed xwing and a advanced Yoda AA meet and greet with R2 out in front of Yodas hut!

Why bother retheming an area as swampland? All of WDW is a swamp. Save a lot of money, expand DHS onto some of the surrounding swampland and create "Dagoba". Throw in a simple hut and Luke's XWing. OT fans will eat it up. Perfectly themed land with almost zero construction.

You can send me a check whenever, @realBobChapek

We can glue prosthetics to the alligators and make alien monsters!

No need. Dagobah was already crawling with the types of creatures you’d find in earth based swamp land 😉

No, they'll just find something else to whine about.

I don't think it's whining. One of the things that sounded so cool to me was that it would feel like you were visiting a real living city in the Star Wars world. If their plan is to slowly add those elements, I think it's a stupid plan. I guess better late than never, but that's not much of a standard. Why not just deliver what you promised to the guests from the get-go?

There are reasonable people who were/are disappointed by Galaxy's Edge. There are also people determined to whine and complain about it no matter how immersive it is or will become, simply because Disney dared to set it during the Sequel trilogy.

Because Bob Iger doesn't understand the draw and appeal of the parks, and Bob Chapek is a cheapskate businessman.

Just in case anyone is unclear on where I stand though, I do think the land is great, but now that the newness has worn off for me a bit it does seem more apparent that it needs more entertainment and a more lively vibe sooner rather than later.

Actually I haven’t seen a lot of people complain about including Disney Star Wars, of course they would include their current characters. The mistake they made was ONLY allowing Disney Star Wars era characters and forbidding all of the iconic characters over the first 40 years and future characters not in this very specific timeframe. That was idiotic.

Tomato, tomato. It's set during the sequel trilogy. It contains numerous references and easter eggs from the OT and PT, but can't have roaming OT characters who aren't in the ST because they're all dead. If they had chosen not to set it in a particular timeframe, that would probably have made a lot of folks happier (though I'm pretty sure there's a sizable contingent who will settle for nothing less than a perfect recreation of OT Mos Eisley with two suns overhead and no references to the ST whatsoever), but that ship has sailed. If people are going to keep complaining about the setting even after Disney fixes the lack of kinetic energy, that's on them and not Disney.

So they made a fundamentally poor creative decision that dramatically limits the land’s ability to deliver on its potential to the guests and we should never discuss it again. Understood.

Honest question for all here that defend this decision, please complete the following sentence:

By designing a land that forever bans the iconic beloved characters of the original trilogy, the prequel trilogy, and all future characters (Mandalorian, new Kenobi series, future movies in different eras, etc, etc.) the guest experience has been greatly improved because __________________.

I thought the potential was much higher for the current time frame vs the original - that they could do more by having it set "right now" vs 30 years ago. That's why I've been disappointed that they only seemed to go halfway with it. It's still pretty cool overall though.

Nothing about the design of the land itself prohibits them forever. They can change this policy if they want to and I'm willing to bet they will down the road.

However, I personally do not want to see Luke, Han, Leia, Lando, etc. face characters, they're too iconic in pop culture. It's different with Rey, who has not achieved iconic status, or animated humans being portrayed by real people.

I just want a meet and greet with Lieutenant Bek. He is the coolest character in Galaxy's Edge and to my mind, the Figment of DHS! I was crestfallen at the lack of Bek the Halls holiday merchandise.
