I find it strange how you guys have such a superiority complex toward a theme park you don't own or anything. I couldn't care less which one is perceived better, I'm a themed entertainment fan and that's all. It's not a sports team.
But what's far more mentally concerning is how you guys make blatantly incorrect statements (and like others' blatantly incorrect statements) and can't admit you're wrong!

I'll stick to two for now. When I point out how these are factually incorrect, you guys conveniently don't rebuke. Instead you resort to calling me immature names like "Floridian fanboy" and "bad egg." There's a difference between being biased/delusional and factually correct, and if you can't see who's which, you're gonna see someday. You're making yourselves look like idiots, and I don't find enjoyment in seeing that continue.

So I expect apologies and admissions from multiple people in the next two years.

nice pics

be wary, however...
early recon suggests that cave may lead to some sort of time-traveling wormhole

it's presence in the north american southwest leads us to believe it may be related to our site in new mexico, though we have yet to confirm

caution is advised

Thanks!

I took those quick amateur photos with my phone and shared them here because as this project has rolled along, it's been interesting to me to hear the concerns of us fans change and morph. Two years ago there were many who where concerned that Star Wars would not fit on the northern flanks of Frontierland, and that it would dwarf and overpower the adjacent lands.

Then came the excellent results of the Rivers of America redo, and those concerns were muted. Then the new Big Thunder Trail opened and the concerns grew even fainter. Star Wars at Disneyland really is quite remote and separated by large amounts of wilderness buffer zones. All three entrance portals seem poised to blend well and gradually move the audience from one theme to another over a relatively large piece of area.

Which for Disneyland is quite a big change when historically themed land changes have generally been this abrupt for over 60 years...

Huh? I read it twice even, and I'm still confused. I've never used those names you quoted, for you or anyone.

And when I look at aerial photos I still see the DHS Star Wars hemmed in by World Drive (and the parking toll entry lanes on the other side), just as Disneyland's is hemmed in by Disneyland Drive and the Rivers of America.
DHS_starwarsland_bioreconstruct-700x394.jpg

And the latest aerials also increasingly show that there is different land use in front of the Falcon ride, and not just limited to two entry points at Disneyland versus one at DHS. The very different land use on the opposite side of the land, by the Stormtrooper ride and MuppetVision has been obvious for months, but it's interesting how there is similar land use differences now developing on the other side too.

I'm confused what I'm supposed to apologize for here. So I think I'll go fix some lunch instead. :)

Do we have to apologize if we've only called you names in our heads?

The road with the toolbooths is being moved (the lighter grey patch in the pic below). The dark grey is the new parking lot.

What used to be the main entrance will be a back lot access, which theoretically can be moved around wherever WDW wants it. The parking lot, or part of it, can be reclaimed for expanding the park. Everything else that's highlighted below in yellow can be annexed to DHS to expand its footprint. The SW Resort will wind up somewhere in there. And the patch of greenery above the new entrance driveway can also be made into new resorts or parking. DHS can theoretically double its size with new land if WDW so chooses.

You used "Floridian fanboy." Hattie called me a "bad egg."

I've explained on multiple occasions how you're wrong about the space between the land and World Drive and you never reply. Read your original post and then Post #6066. As for the space in front of Falcon, the latest photo shows plenty room on the opposite side of the berm. Does this read "squished and gasping for space?"

I cannot tell whether you really don't realize you're wrong, or you're just trolling or trying make us forget you're wrong.

Do we have to apologize if we've only called you names in our heads?

Cute. You'll regret it too.

Agreed that the changes to the north ROA and Big Thunder trail are well done. Although I’m not sure I prefer them to what was there before. Also agree on this being a big change as far as transitions. Although, I think for so many abrupt transitions, they always manage to still come off as charming at DL. For example, I think the Adventureland/ Frontierland transition in the pic you posted works just fine and fits with the scale of the park. Maybe because the pathways and nooks/ crannies are so tight they don’t come off as such jarring transitions.

Dude, chill. It was a joke. For someone who could "care less" you really seem to be all up in a tizzy about everything, all the time.

Good to know.

I've had some bad experiences with conspiracy theories, and yeah, this one sure as hell gets me in a tizzy. Especially annoying when nobody will rebuke, yet nobody will admit they're wrong. The good news is it'll be settled eventually. As for in general, I guess I'm opinionated. I don't have time to visit an online forum for something I'm not passionate about. But of course, my apologies!

Aren’t ALL the castles on a hill? I might be reading that wrong.

I wish we had the dementors.

I think The Tim Tracker was referring to this...

Here is Orlando Hogsmeade from the entrance...

Harry_Potter_2.jpg

Here is the Hollywood version...

Hogwarts Castle Hollywood 2.png

Here is what the art director for USH Hogsmeade/Hogwarts had to say:

The art director made use of the SoCal setting in other ways, especially its rich light. "It helped us enhance the colors and the textures," says Gilmore. "It's so vivid, it almost feels high definition when you look at objects here." For example, he says that in Florida, the walls have a satin finish, whereas he chose glossy paint in Hollywood to better reflect and accent the light. He also slightly repositioned California's castle and elevated it a bit compared to Orlando so that it would bask in the optimum dramatic lighting. "These are minor details," Gilmore notes, "but they register subliminally with guests."
