I am bummed the two SWLs don't really have unique offerings/differences so that there was incentive to want to see both of them.

agreed - wouldn't that have been nice? would have given us a real reason to compare.
... and would have, obviously, given folks a reason to go to both :greedy:

but twdc doesn't really work that way - and largely never has.

and totally sucks (for mult reasons) that, because tdo railed against a third ride (for reasons....), tda didn't get one
lame lame lame

ha... drastic, yes...
but that's how i see some of this stuff.

noticing the differences in soot content on a castle wall and pointing out why they're different is nice insight, especially in a forum as this, but the versus stuff is lame, as there's no competition.

diz v uni, yeah - tda v tdo, yeah - but diz v diz? coast v coast?...
peeps can say they're just jokin, but i dunno, man - soometiiimes

Do you smell burnt toast?

I think it will be interesting to see simply the lighting differences. Isn’t the DHS version facing north while DL version faces south?

What a great point! Yes, the two lands face opposite directions; south-facing in Disneyland and north-facing in WDW.

That, plus the natural differences in light between the two very different climates will make for some interesting differences; a whiter light defracted by humidity in Orlando and a golden light with little defraction in dry Anaheim. The paint and color scheme choices will need to be adjusted between the two coasts, and WDI seems to love to obsess over those types of details.

I am fortunate enough to visit WDW annually typically, so I value the differences between all the parks/lands/attractions -- good, bad, or simply different. I am bummed the two SWLs don't really have unique offerings/differences so that there was incentive to want to see both of them.

This is all good and true except when you are stuck with the inferior product at your Home park. Such as Mission Breakout.

Back to Star Wars land

Seeing as this showbuilding is so large and it's the first thing you see when entering the Mickey and Friends structure, I kind of wish it had posters or something on the back of it to welcome guests to the resort.

They are now adding aesthetic skins to the exteriors facing Disneyland Drive. It appears to be basic trim elements made to give it the appearance of a commercial building instead of a massive metal warehouse. These are purely aesthetic additions, since the building itself is done and complete and could just as well stand there for the next 100 years as the huge metal warehouse it is.

You can see these new aesthetic additions in the first few moments of the latest video here; the brown column additions to the corner of the building. Those are new and purely aesthetic, and I imagine they form the first elements of faux decorations to make the building look more normal and pleasant from outside the park and Disneyland Drive.

I replied to your last post here, can you please reply back? Cheers.

Haha fine but it’s more inferior now IMO.

But, it's actually more enticing to visit now for those of us who have access to both. It's a weird predicament if you can only pick one, but having both is great. I'm really looking forward to seeing it.

Quite possibly the best situation is Pirates in DL versus SDL. Both are excellent and different. It's very rare that's the case, certainly.

The Great Movie Ride and Superstar Limo are also both similar yet wildly different attractions but I still wouldn't want Superstar Limo. Sometimes an inferior clone is simply better than something unique imo.

Well isn’t that great for you? Haha jk. Technically I also have access to both but definitely not yearly. Agreed on DL / SDLs Pirates.

While I also like USH's Castle better, nothing is as jarring as seeing a modern office building while in Hogsmeade. Florida wins.

Where you at Smile? Rich had the nerve to say share his opinion about which Hogsmeade he thinks is better. Clearly this cannot be tolerated since this ing contest is worse than sports, amiright?

Or maybe comparing theme parks on a theme park-centric website composed of theme park enthusiasts is a completely rational thing to do.

They really should have just torn out the Winnie the pooh ride and built the path there instead of near the river. while at it build a new larger show room for a new attraction for Critter country, maybe even a better pooh ride.

That path using the Berm would be interesting if needed to connect the north side of Fantasyland. Seems like they are working on several projects to help traffic flow throughout the park, which is why I am surprised that they didn't consider working out a way to make a connection between the northern Fantasyland area and the Frontierland path. Seems like they can easily remove some of the landscaping behind the stationary stagecoach Prop they placed a few yards from the Fantasyland entrance and create a path leading to the Fantasyland theater area. I know that there is a service road there but they could have added swing gates that close the path when they need to use the access tunnel. It could have also been used for overflow when park was busy or even used for theater entrance when it was in used. hopefully in the future the theater can be moved and that area better used to expand Fantasyland and create better park flow
