I saw PC Dev was not even invited to the four hour event. He has been critical of disney more than others for the price increases and cuts. I would not at all be surprised if chapek has a few people who follow social media and cut people off who are critical. He is that kind of guy. That is probably a 10k loss for someone like Dev if he still wants to cover this but cant get the early bump.

I always try to be aware of people with social media presences not presenting the same experience someone might else have. Known food vlogger's often get loaded plates and impeccable service. Disney most certainly tracks people as much as they can who they consider important to marketing since most of the planning gets done in app.

My cruise's Facebook group were discussing the "backstories" they've crafted and honestly that's not even something I've considered. "Married siblings" is clearly old hat at this point, so I'm considering either "breeder of exotic Loth Cats for show and sustenance" or "camtono importer/exporter (safest safes in the galaxy, har-har)." Open to suggestions.
Just say you’re a gambler and you’re there to take a sabacc-tical.

Seems I need help absorbing my media. As I'm coming to understand it, I should be heavily downgrading any comped review while taking any self-paid review at face value.
But...
What if the self-paid reviewer is an influencer upset they were not one of the "Chosen Few," and now has a petty axe to grind?
What if some influencers technically pay for the trip, but the funds actually come so from money raised by Patreon, GoFundME, etc for that exact purpose and not an actual "out of pocket" expense.
Speaking of which, aren't some able to write off some of this as a business expense? Highly suspect.
And what about a review from one of the many self-appointed "good customers" that have been vocal about not also being one of the "Chosen Few" and are upset that "stupid influencers" are more valued by the company they've already given so much hard earned cash to.
What if the trip was given as a gift, not from Disney, but from literally anyone else? I would hope their review would mention that deep-pocket-grandma forked over the cash.

So is there a formula out there for finding the honest and true? Or do we... gasp- just go with our gut as everyone has since the creation of advertisements, reviews, and general word of mouth.
I have no idea why you’re pretending it’s unusual to be critical of news sources. We all need to do it all the time. Do you give equal credibility to a newspaper article citing experts, a Youtube video of a guy with sunglasses in his car, and a podcast? If so, you must have developed some REALLY fascinating views over the last five years.

But of course, you consume news critically. In this case, however, you're trying to delegitimize the entire idea of approaching reviews critically - of discerning intent, hidden motives, biases both conscious and unconscious. Doing this in relation to a new theme park attraction is silly and insignificant, but its a microcosm of a horribly corrosive practice that has been undertaken on a much larger scale in the US throughout the last half decade - attack the very idea that intelligent people can discern something close to the truth so that any lie, no matter how outrageous, is accepted by a large audience.

Here's the Crown of Corellia Dining Room set for luncheon service. Is it me, or do all the Galactic Starcruiser CM's wear that same dental hygienist uniform? Front desk check-in CM's, dance lesson CM's, cocktail lounge CM's, Space Bingo number caller CM's, dining room waiter CM's, etc., etc.

That seems weird. And very cheap. Especially because the only uniform they have is frumpy and lumpy and cheap.

P.S. Don't think I'm not appalled that there are no table linens and no tabletop accesories or jewelry. This looks flat and unimpressive. Is this steerage class? How do I upgrade to the real dining room?
That baffled me, because in cruise ships you have different staff with different uniforms for every single department.
It makes me wonder if these CMs are the same that appear everywhere and just change positions to save costs.
But for costume and uniform season.. thats one hell of money crap trick by DIS.

Has anyone considered how annoying it would be if you had to run back to your car to grab something?

I don't think it would be that much more annoying than at other Disney resorts. You could easily be 10-15 minutes from your car at most Disney resorts.

Will be interesting to see how people can break the room bot. I would be tempted to answer "suck my balls" to every question just to see how the program went.
Natural language assistants (Siri, Alexa, OK Google, etc...) either chide you for being rude or pretend they don't understand (or they actually don't understand). In the latter case, they ask you to clarify or they give you totally unrelated information. I would expect the same here.

I'm pretty sure I read that the room bot may not be in use for actual cruises? I don't remember where, though.

The fun part is that the valet would have to fetch it for you and stand there while you look for that thing you left in your car. And imagine the embarrassment if you didn't find it.

Tip well, my friends.

I forgot that it's all valet. I wouldn't think they'd have the valet available all the time, though -- likely only during the few arrival hours and departure hours. I guess the valet could easily be part of the staff doing other things outside of those hours, though, and thus available if necessary.

The main dining room, which seems like it should be a showpiece, looks like a mildly dressed up cafeteria. Media from the test cruises have made a lot of the spaces look more interesting than they did before, but the dining room still looks awful. I don't get it.

The main dining room for this concept also has to play host to the big evening entertainment with Gaya. It's odd they dumbed it down so much and cheaped out like they did, when it plays such a time-consuming and important role in the experience.

One of the articles/videos mentioned that based on what they were told, one can leave anytime. Which presumes a valet available at all hours (probably indeed a 'font desk' type doing double duty as you surmise). If you don't have your own car, you'd need to arrange for a pick-up (friend, taxi, ride-share).

well then I can break them in a whole host of ways. Good for the developers and for content. I would never give layups to any AI until I couldn't break it anymore.

I have only been on one Disney Cruise in my life, and I doubt I'll return. But I was very impressed with the Disney Cruise Line staff and amused at how my waiter team changed uniforms each night to match the dining room I was in. Clever!

I have been on Cunard's Queen Mary 2 to get across the Atlantic in a Grills Suite, and I plan to repeat that lovely experience before I kick the bucket. The white-gloved Cunard staff were impeccably groomed and beautifully dressed, and also graciously mannered. Because, you know, it was an expensive luxury cruise ship. That happens on that sort of "immersive adventure".

And then there's Maude whatever this is supposed to be...
