Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker Reactions: SPOILERS

This is NOT an issue with Star Wars. This is an waste of effort on an entertainment enterprise. And it’s also - conveniently - provides a smoke screen for Disney’s mishandling of character and story...as a side effect.

The revisionist history on this being an “issue” is the most aggravating thing in Star Wars minefield of missteps.

People act as though only white Boys played Han Solo in the backyard...and Leia was the subject of feminist rallies about being “weak”

In the latter case - she was actually progressive and revolutionary.

This is classic case of mining the past for current grievances.

For an indie film on Netflix about marriage troubles...

Anyone having to carry Scarjo...who is borderline awful...should get an Oscar

Moot point... right now we have people, for some reason, trying to take away from someone’s moment where they were an unknown actor becoming known.

Star Wars did that for him, and I’m truly happy for any Actor actually making it in the industry. I also find him to be an interesting actor, and I assume big things are in his future.

Pitt and cruise were entirely driven by sex appeal...it wasn’t till later they were give actual acting...

Did you see legends of the fall?

Bale was put into an incredible franchise with depth of character and adaptation. The first two are among the 5 best superhero movies of all time (and the third is underrated) and better than any MCU with perhaps the exception of the winter soldier.

Bale is a phenomenal actor. I’m not arguing that. His Batman isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but overall he is stellar.

Here is a simple way to look at...

How many will feel compelled to goto an adam driver movie based on what theynsaw in star wars?
How many felt compelled to goto a star wars movie because of adam driver?

Im sure adam brought some kids in... but i dont think his appeal was very broad. And i don’t have any interest in a future product based on what screen time i got of him from sw.

I dont think the new movies made stars out of anyone... except daisy.

Adam’s role wasn’t to bring people into Star Wars, as they didn’t need star power for that. He was hired to be a compelling character in a franchise, to be a new and unknown.

Some may not think he was successful as that character(I do)... but this argument is really just getting to the level of dumb we haven’t seen yet in the Star Wars conversation.

I’ll end it with this. Adam Driver can force choke me any time. Any day. Any place.

He did get a role in "The Dead Don't Die" though. But then again...I watched that because of Murray. And just happened to say "Hey, there's Kylo Ren fighting zombies"

Bale you could say American Psycho in 2000 when he was 26.
Then Machinist and Bat Man Begins when he was 30 and 31.
Although if someone wants to get technical we can always throw out Empire of the Sun at 13 or Swing Kids.

Pitt became hot with Thelma and Louise at 28
Then 92-93 with River Runs Through it, Kalifornia.
94 was his big year Legends of the Fall, Seven, 12 Monkeys.
Early years he just copied James Dean totally but it actually worked for him and he got alot of mileage out of it.
Why did you reply to my post if you're not going to even talk about how the romance was mishandled?

You missed the point entirely. It was a way to measure his impact as an actor... not if it was necessary or not.

I was a bit into it but not really anymore.

I will say this though. I think it would have had a bit more impact if he didn't discard the helmet so early in the trilogy. Maybe only have face shots during the force segments with Rey and maybe a few Ben Solo flashback scenes.

It might have led to a nice build-up and potential payoff in IX.

An "improved" version of Cats is being released to theaters Tuesday at the latest according to The Wrap. It will have different VFX.

What are the chances an "improved" version of Star Wars is coming if the box office continues to not live up to Disney's expectations?

0 to None. I'd expect Disney to be more likely to buy the rights to Spaceballs. "The Rise of Yogurt". And that would drop in July. Might make some of the money back. But then again - If Disney put Kennedy in charge of that....well...maybe not so much. I mean that's a tough one. Do you recast Barf?

Ok, hold up. Something else just occurred to me.

Andy Serkis had once revealed in an interview that Snoke was "hundreds of years old". Too lazy to go dig-up which interview, but Google search "Andy Serkis says Snoke is hundreds of years old" and you'll find something. Trust me, it's there.

SO, that means Snoke was 200-years old at least, considering he is in his hundreds.
But in ROS, Palpatine says he created Snoke. So that means Palpatine would have to be well over 200.
But Palpatine is also Rey's grandfather, and she is only 30ish, considering she wasn't even in existence until well after the events of ROTJ.
So if Palpatine was old enough to create Snoke, a being which is hundreds of years old, yet be the grandfather of Rey, a 30-something young gir..

Yeah that's the problem with rushing an answer right off the bat on who Snoke was... He was just a clone that Palps had created but a clone of who? Or what? Also, Rey is 19 at the start of TFA and is around 20 years old at the start of TROS.

$176 million opening weekend. Not good for the finale of the Star Wars saga. Looks like this could be out of the theaters by mid January.

We may be able to get a light saber at SWGE for $49.99 soon. What has happened in the last 2 years will come to be known as "The Rian Johnson Effect". It will be studied during film class for several decades.
