Such a low level take...that’s disappointing.
What was it when you implied that people that liked TLJ were stupid? Repartee?

I’m not saying stupid to “like” anything...and frankly never will.

But it’s disappointing when people can’t defend their stances and don’t engage on why there are conflicting views.

Patronization is not an “intelligent” move...and silence is often a show of lack of substance in a discussion

Or they just can't seem to let things go no matter what.
I think when something means as much to a person as Star Wars tends to mean to its fans, it’s gonna be harder to move on from something that you really don’t like (and not let it bug you to no end). TLJ really ed a lot of people off. I personally enjoyed it (a lot) even though if it were up to me I would have done some things very differently. For example, I can justify in my mind Super Leia, but I don’t like the way they did that. I understand the argument to support it, but It would not have even been on my radar as to how to introduce her instinctual Force abilities. I can explain away Rey’s rapid evolution but I think they could have made it so much more believable with a few minutes of extra footage and maybe some dialog. Some of the jokes missed the mark for me. But none of those things ruin the film for me. I just view them as creative choices that I disagree with and happily move on and look forward to the next one.

I always think “move on”...is a bit obtuse to the Star Wars phenomena.

But that is honestly something you would have had to live through...to be fair.

That’s why I don’t hold it against those that say these things...who are probably watching Dobbs and Shawn right now 🤪

Back to the movie...I think they knew they had to go complete fan service for damage control.

I’ll give abrams and Iger advanced credit for that...at least.

I expect tons of action and little nuance...and the emperor is the baddie and they talk Vader a lot.

It’s where they need to go for the money.

I’m more intrigued after a fleet of Star destroyers and more importantly B-Wings...saw that first run.

(I bet you new aged fans didn’t catch the b-wings, huh? Roll tape 😉)

I’m 49 and definitely lived through the phenomenon that is Star Wars. But for clarification, when I said move on, I didn’t mean move on from Star Wars as a whole but rather move on from the parts of Star Wars that someone doesn’t like. I could have been more clear but regardless, it’s just my opinion anyway so it really means nothing in the grand scheme of things. Lol!

Haters gonna hate. Which is usually code for "I can't form a rebuttal/comeback to what you just said."

The B-wing's origin was outlined in the Rebels episode "Wings of the Master"

Odds are the new age fans know more about them than those that watched the movies and skipped the various Star Wars TV shows.

I’m fully aware...long my favorite ship.

FILONI was great to include that...20 years of lucasfilm tidbits provided the backstory...

Including who the designer was 😡

Anyway, watching it again, I side with the idea that Sith Rey is a vision. I just has a look to it that makes it a bit unnatural.
Or it's another clone.
From the secret Jakku clone factory where Rey's "parents" found her while scavenging.

It appears to be...which means it’s yet another lift from prior movies

I’ll just drop in with what one of my friends told me a few years ago (updated with the right number of movies): If a film series has eleven movies and you hate all except three of them, maybe you’re just not a fan of that film series.

And that’s fine, but a lot of Star Wars fans (especially online) seem to be straddling a weird line of “I love this more than anything” and “these people ruined my life with these movies and should be fired and publicly shamed immediately because I’m incapable of just not bothering with things I don’t like”.
