Star Wars Ep. 9 Thread

Could be worse. I could have gone Star Wars NES on you. I have never had a game make me want to kick a puppy like that one did. :)
I never bothered to play it...though I did endure empire for 2600.

No joke...Super ROJ was one of my favorite games ever.

And I actually like the way the xwing series handled the B...

It was always supposed to be a bear to fly...they even kinda hinted at that in Rebels.

The goal was to get it into position and let it rip...it’s a ball buster - basically.

Kinda like that STUPID bomber In the last Johnson...just a million times cooler

Ok...geek hour over

I’ll just drop in with what one of my friends told me a few years ago (updated with the right number of movies): If a film series has eleven movies and you hate all except three of them, maybe you’re just not a fan of that film series.

And that’s fine, but a lot of Star Wars fans (especially online) seem to be straddling a weird line of “I love this more than anything” and “these people ruined my life with these movies and should be fired and publicly shamed immediately because I’m incapable of just not bothering with things I don’t like”.
I only outright hate one of them. All 9 others I can find some level of enjoyment.

Ok...I’ll stop after this:

It hasn’t ruined my life...but I can make the case that 5.5 of the last 8 movies have been bad. 3 have been Ter-awful

1. That’s LFL’s fault...they deserve the flack
2. This isn’t that hard. Good characters = good stories. They can’t get that

What are the theories on the stash of Empire era Star Destroyers? I don't think that's a mobile fleet, rather an armada in storage. What if the Resistance finds this instead of the First Order and uses it? What if they got a Death Star of their own. I think there had been a rumor that the Leia plot involved a super-weapon.

Maybe they’re all Force projections. Just kidding...or am I? o_O

In all seriousness, I have a feeling these are all tools Palpatine has kept hidden away for his big come back that’s he’s probably been planning since the beginning. They definitely looked pretty ominous in that footage though and I have to admit, I’m a little scared.

A similar plot line was In the first Star Wars EU books published In the early 90s...

I thought it corny then...I’d take it now

That could be true! Apparently, in the comics, it's explained that the Emperor had a contingency plan in the event of his death, so maybe he had all of these weapons, ships, and other resources ready to go to get the Empire back on track. I don't read the comics, so I don't know the exact details. I just like reading people's summaries about what goes on.

With both those video/computer game references you are making me feel really old. I always thought I could take on a Star Destroyer in X-Wing and I always died. All the SW Super NES were near impossible. The NES games weren't any easier.

Watch the trailer again and just listen to the sounds just after Palpatine speaks and the screen goes dark.
I hear multiple things layered over one another.
A regular breath. (Padme dying?)
A Darth Vader breath.
Some sort of wavering artificial sound.
A voice?
Lightning.

I was also trying to figure out the sounds there at that part. I definitely heard the Vader breath, but I thought I also heard the whispering noise you hear whenever we see Maul in ep.1. It might be my imagination though...

I think I hear a voice as well, but it's right in the middle when everything is layered over each other.
