Star Tours, Princesses, Mermaid, DC gate, Pop Century, and more... Oh My!

Sure they are floating around. But, I doubt anything will happen until AKL and BLT are sold out, or close to sold out. From what I heard, they aren't close to selling out, and they are having a very hard time selling them.

I've heard the same thing. They picked a bad time for such rapid expansion, IMO.

Building large scale projects like timeshares is certainly a risky business. I'm sure the plans for BLT, AKL, etc were well in motion before things started to go south. However, one could argue that it would be inadvisable to expand this much even during good times. There has to be a point where there just isn't enough demand for "Disney's best kept secret" to match the supply.

Exactly why I think they moved forward with BLT too soon. I think they should've held off on it until AKL and SSS was sold. As it stands, they have SSS, AKL, BLT, GC, and Hawaii going up with DC in the not so distant future. It just seems like they should maybe slow down a bit.

But, what do I know.

BTW, looking forward to maybe meeting you in Aug.

I for one have no desire to stay in a Villa, so the whole DVC idea doesn't catch my fancy...however the Treehouses look amazing.

Looking forward to meeting you as well. Hopefully I can make it happen. I don't have much luck with solo trips.

To add to the few credible things in that initial post and article, I just heard that Soarin' will be getting a new film after Tokyo films theirs...

That's very interesting ... and will likely be a very long wait since Soarin is not coming to Tokyo for the forseeable future.

Makes sense, seeing that the Studio might film it. ;)

Do you know when they start filming? I had heard rumblings...
Nothing on when ours starts, but I know that Tokyo gets first dibbs. This doesn't mean waiting until their attraction actually opens, just that WDW won't start until Tokyo is finished filming. We could have ours up and running before their attraction is finished.

So wait, two different films? :lookaroun

Yes, two versions are being shot. Tokyo will film their version first. Then WDW will film their new version afterward. Just because Tokyo's might not be open for a while, their film will still be shot and ready to load into their attraction. We do not have to wait for Tokyo's to actually open before our film is updated in Epcot though.

Since TDL didn't have Soarin' before where should this one go? I hope Tomorrowland to add to the 70's feel of the land when there were attractions like Meet the World.

Right. I've just wondered...Why not pool efforts?

Doing it they way that we have heard of would be more of a hassle.

Very interesting. Eventually, I think it would be kind of neat if each park had their own Soarin' type film. Really EPCOT could easily have two. Italy is a beautiful country. :lookaroun

Al Lutz had talked about the Japanese Soarin' going in to DisneySea in an attraction themed to Jiminy Crickett flying around letting his conscience be his guide. I think it was supposed to go in Port Discovery.
