Star Tours, Princesses, Mermaid, DC gate, Pop Century, and more... Oh My!

From what I was understanding, they had scrapped the total demo and new victorian hotel for that site. I remember reading that their reasoning was that the complete rebuild would put just too great of a cut in DLR's hotel capacity, which is already so low. They were still looking at building a Victorian hotel to the south in what is now parking lot or building it where PPH currently is (though that I only read once).

I would also not be surprised if they did a semi-lift of TDL's new hotel since both resorts have space issues and the designs are already available (and are more fanciful than the GF, which like Krankenstein said is based on the Coronado)

Eh, I hope they just go ahead with tearing it down and building a resort similar to the TDL one.

They announced this yesterday ... the press release was everywhere (must have gotten lost in the rumors).

While the new room mockups look nice enough, they don't scream out special (although I'd bet more than one fanboi will wet themselves over the fiber-optic castle in the headboards!)

They should have imploded the hotel and started from scratch. No matter how they retrofit these towers they're still 1960s and 70s basic hotel towers and there's only so much you can do.

As to PPH, they're not sure what they're going to do with it yet ...

Does anyone else agree that Star Wars should get better than a laim simulator.

If George Lucas ever decided to sell the Star Wars franchise, I think you would see an entire theme park built. That said, I rode ST recently and it is still amazing after all this time. Can't wait for the plussing! :)

I was riding behind a family with what seemed like 12 children and they were laughing and carrying on through the entire ride. Perhaps you have just experienced it too many times.

I still enjoy but don't ride it everytime I go. Now as for "Body Wars", yep lame city.:hurl:

Yep. Eddie Sotto's idea for a futuristic hotel just outside Future World should get fast tracked by TWDC.

Its ok I just think they could do better:shrug: Like take the crush coaster tech and TSM tech combine them and you get to pilot your own X-wing.

I'm not saying it couldn't be better, b/c it could. However, the original attraction is still fairly good. If the 25/25/25 thing proves to be true, the ride will really be amazing.

He actually suggested a DVC to make it feasible. And the EPCOT model would be perfect scaled down.:)

If it got it built, even if it was DVC, I would be thrilled. The land riiiight across from EPCOT is perfect.;)

If they wanted to, it could even have a Monorail stop.

I think we have enough DVC for right now. BTW, I heard they have GF and Poly DVC plans floating around... :brick: :brick:

Sure they are floating around. But, I doubt anything will happen until AKL and BLT are sold out, or close to sold out. From what I heard, they aren't close to selling out, and they are having a very hard time selling them.
