Star Tours, Princesses, Mermaid, DC gate, Pop Century, and more... Oh My!

Wish I could explain it but I think you have to figure out your skepticism all by youself.

Economies function best when governments keep their hand off of them.

That DCA was a colossal Eisner failure does not diminish the fact that what is going to happen there is "magical".

Corrus lamented Pixar's control over the parks, so don't tell me Pixar and Jobs have no say. Clearly they do.

I'm done talking to the purely cynical on these boards. It's not worth my time. It must be heck to have such a negative outlook. Bye to you too.

So how about these new projects?
(Drifting the thread back to original topic rather than personal issues)

Any chance Imagination stuff is somehow lumped in/overlooked in this original report?
That's what I'm waiting for. :)

How do you guys feel about the Star Tour change? The fact that it could take place in between movie 3 and 4. Personally, I would like to see it stick to 4, 5 and 6.

plus, i read that the Drew Carrey Sounds Dangerous sign had been removed. Is this because of Star Wars or other reasons? Can anyone confirm this?

I hope so, with every ounce of my being. I've been hearing about that project forever, including from someone out of WDI, and it's about time they go through with it. Of course I'm also waiting on the Jungle Cruise refurb/overhaul.

Sounds Dangerous sign has been down for a few months now. I believe I'm pretty much the only one who is sad about this.

I'm an old school Star Wars fan. But I kind of like the idea of setting the ride in a specific period outside of continuity. That way you don't get the "Which Death Star is this exactly?" weirdness you got out of ST1.

So, why did they remove the sign?

I didn't read WDW1974's comments as saying MK was getting nothing. Just that nothing has been approved. He acknowledged that there are plans. But there are always plans.

From what we know right now, he's right. Nothing of any consequence is coming to MK. The minute one of these projects gets approved, then something is coming.

I could be totally misreading him, but he seems to acknowledge that the LM attraction and some other stuff is likely to get approved eventually. I mean, eventually they have to approve something, right?

I'm sorry, but he seems to be being pretty realistic. I haven't seen any facts that actually counter anything he's said.

That is strange because we are supposed to laud 74 for his genius because he supposedly said that the wand was coming down before anyone else. Yet when someone else leaks LM is on the way, well then that does not matter because there has been no official announcement from Disney.............hmmmm.

The name of WDW74, connundrum or Cbomb will never be responded to, typed by me or spoken of by me ever again. Can I get 3 "free at lasts"?

FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of Martin Luther King, George Lucas gave $1,000,000 to his memorial in Washington DC. Way to go Mr. Lucas! Salute!

I don't care when the new ST is set, as long as it's new. There was plastic crap hanging from the ceiling last week, blocking the view.

I did notice for the first time that the furry creature sitting next to the girl in blue in the pre-boarding video is from the Ewok Adventure: Battle for Endor movie.

True. If it's new and good, Jar Jar Binks can sit next to me for all I care.

Well seeing how the Land, SSE, and Seas are updated, and SSE and Energy exteriors have been retro-fied, it seems only fitting that Imagination is next. And the fact that I saw managers doing guest surveys (however relevant) near the old elevator in Imagination, must mean (I hope) that it's close! :D

While that's nice news, I wish you would not patronize that speech so.

Must be the History Nerd freaking out in me.

I thought the rumor was that it would occur between 3 and 4...
Not what I heard. But I would rather have it between 3 and 4.

That Snow White facade really is Nightastic!

The funny thing is that is what it looks like before the 5 week rehab. It just closed a few days ago for five weeks of its bi-annual refurbishment. The interior was closed off first as they begin rehabbing the loading area and ride itself, and now the tarps are going up on the exterior to freshen the facade and entry and building itself.

Peter Pan's Flight across the way just reopened from five weeks of rehab last week, and it looks gorgeous inside and out. Plus there's 21st century fiber optic tech and animatronics that actually move inside!

Pinnochio's Daring Journey is next in late July, after Snow White's Scary Adventures closes. Then Casey Jr. Circus Train and Storybookland Canal Boats close in late August for a 10 week rehab and freshening to the intricate miniatures found in those attractions.

It's such a shame that WDW's Magic Kingdom can't ever close any attractions for regulare maintenance because it would RUIN VACATIONS and make children cry and mobs of angry crowds would storm City Hall each day yelling at the hostesses at the counter.

The new Star Tours sounds like it could be pretty exciting. My main problem with simulator rides (not counting Spider-Man) is that the experience is exactly the same every time. Now, that's true on rollercoasters, but I don't the visceral thrill on a simulator that I get on a rollercoaster...no wind in my hair...er, on my bald skull, no lurching stomach from dropping however many feet. They just bore me. Now, add in a large number of randomized combinations and you've got a ride that would appeal even to me! Sounds cool and I can't wait to see it. Hopefully Disneyland gets it first or at the same time since I live so close!

That speech belongs to everyone. I was not patronizing it at all. But I could see where you might think that. I refuse to be dragged down by pessimism. That is all.

If there really are going to be 25 each beggining/middles/ends than I am fairly certain every aspect of all 6 movies will be seen, plus some.
