I don't post much on here because I generally have very little that is new or relative to say. I enjoy reading these threads about what is or is not and may or may not be coming to the Disney parks, both in Anaheim and Orlando. Occasionally I'll post something when I get the urge, like now.
I don't agree with everything WDW1974 says, nor do I agree with the tone of some of his posts. This is true for him and several others on BOTH sides of the positive/negative outlook on the company. However, I feel he does contribute a different opinion on things than most people, and I enjoy reading his posts for that reason. Some others on either side of said debate I feel are less compelling. That being said, if you don't want to listen to him then either don't read his posts (no one is forcing you to) or add him or anyone else you don't agree with to the Ignore List found in the User CP. I have to imagine that's what its there for.
Seriousy, I don't believe that he posts here out of some need to inflate his ego, be negative for the sake of being negative or any other reason than that he loves Disney and wants it to be the best it can. I may disagree with his methods at times but I don't disagree with that sentiment, which he has made many, many times and which is conveniently overlooked. Calls for him to be banned from the site or Disney itself are just ridiculous (though I've seen others on this site, again on both sides of the arguement that could use a good banning).
I know, he doesn't need me or anyone else "getting his back" but I thought I'd just put my opinion out there. Feel free to add me to your Ignore List too! :)
Well said.:)

Wow this thread has really taken off and I barely have gotten a word in edge wise.

You know when I discuss things with you I was always under the impression you were at least sane just stuborn. Apperantly I was wrong . Where exactly is all this magic unfolding at the company?

Start with Pixar, then the amazing DVC's at WDW, Disney feature animation buzz, everything at DCA that is pending, the refurbishments to DL park and DLR in general (amazing stuff!), the continued geometric growth of "Disney Travel" options, the new stuff going to Paris, a new park in the far east, and now LM to WDW.

Add at least two live action features from the folks at Pixar and the realization that WDW is next after Phase 1 at DCA to get some major adds and I would say it is a very bright picture. And imagine what it will be like if the economy improves!!!!!!!!!! :ROFLOL:

Great post, marsrunner. I find that it's people who can't tolerate the other view point that always call for the banning.

Well said.:)

I'd believe both of you if you had a problem with the unprovoked insults that he slings at people randomly on these boards. I'm not talking about towards me, but against any person on here that dares to disagree with him. Doesn't sound like a person who just wants to have a discussion. I have no idea why the mods let him do that.

Pixar: Fair (Toy Story, Carter of Mars, Bear & Bow will all be good im sure. But I am skeptical of pumping 2 pixar movies out a year I think it will reduce the quality of the films and create audiance fatigue).

DVC: lol

Feature Animation: Good

DCA: Jury's still out but so far so good

DL: Totally differnet animal than the other parks. It is the park most protected by Lasseter/Imagineers/hardcore fans.

Add at least two live action features from the folks at Pixar and the realization that WDW is next after Phase 1 at DCA to get some major adds and I would say it is a very bright picture.

Where is this fabled text that says WDW is next after DCA?? The ONLY reason Disney is giving DCA so much attention is because the park is a collosal failure of epic proportions and is a constant tarnish on the company's image. That is the only reason why it is getting the most significant change to any theme park since the 1960s Disneyland.

and btw what Pixar does has nothing to do with what is decided for the theme parks. Remember that

And imagine what it will be like if the economy improves!!!!!!!!!! :ROFLOL:

Then you better pray that The President and his team knows what their doing

He is definitely a member of "Doom and Gloom". But some people see the glass half empty  and others see it half full :D

And most of the so called "doom and gloomers" want Disney to be better...so I don't see why they would be upset if things improve.

And I'd prefer if the glass was you know, 3/4 full, or full, full.

Yes, because I'm sure he would be sad that things would be going well.

If Disney announced kick-______ new rides i'd be the first one down there with wads of cash to blow on Disney stuff. :sohappy:

Like I have said constantly in the past, when Disney gets serious about improving and reinvesting in the parks for their guests I will renew my AP (or at least come back to visit) and start saying positive things about WDW again.

I would never ask for him to be banned. Nor would I add him to my ignore list. I am sorry if it came off that I was attacking him. I didn't mean for it to seem that way. I was just pointing out that he wen't through the entire thread and said something negative about everything. I will take your advice and not read his posts. I hope I haven't hurt anyone's feelings. I was just excited about the Magic talks and got carried away. I don't think anyone should be banned.

I'm curious what makes you think WDW is next after DCA. The DCA rehaul is a one-time deal. Nothing like that is going to happen in FL.

I hope some of these projects move forward. But when you look at what we know, we have the sam-old, same-old and a lot of conflicting rumors. Even the rosiest projections are saying that most of these projects haven't even been approved yet.

It's great that some people want to see the glass as half full. But that doesn't make it so.

I have no idea why people are jumping on WDW1974. Everything he's said is true. Are people seriously just objecting to his tone of voice?

I guess I went against my word on posting again.

But, I just wanted to make this clear. The ban thing was a sarcastic joke. I mean, I thought it was obvious, but guess not. I do not think people should be banned for their opinions...what is this...the McCarthy days...just wanted less unnecessary negativity from him and more on-topic discussion/debate.

Guess I was wrong to say anything at all...

I am skeptical

Please explain

Wish I could explain it but I think you have to figure out your skepticism all by youself.

Economies function best when governments keep their hand off of them.

That DCA was a colossal Eisner failure does not diminish the fact that what is going to happen there is "magical".

Corrus lamented Pixar's control over the parks, so don't tell me Pixar and Jobs have no say. Clearly they do.

I'm done talking to the purely cynical on these boards. It's not worth my time. It must be heck to have such a negative outlook. Bye to you too.

I didn't say WDW is getting a DCA type makeover, just some new stuff after DCA phase 1.

WDW74 said all the stuff from the AC was on it's way to Tokyo and the MK was getting nothing. He does not know what he is talking about. I'd advise much salt!

PS--I object to his insults towards people who just disagree with him.

You were not wrong at all! I thought they way your post sounded was very nice! I could tell you were joking. Besides, people are jumping on you just as much as me or anyone else. Why not add as you feel. If one peoson can pick through the thread and say all negitive things, you should be able to reply back. Don't apoloigze for speaking, just apologize if you have upset someone.

I didn't read WDW1974's comments as saying MK was getting nothing. Just that nothing has been approved. He acknowledged that there are plans. But there are always plans.

From what we know right now, he's right. Nothing of any consequence is coming to MK. The minute one of these projects gets approved, then something is coming.

I could be totally misreading him, but he seems to acknowledge that the LM attraction and some other stuff is likely to get approved eventually. I mean, eventually they have to approve something, right?

I'm sorry, but he seems to be being pretty realistic. I haven't seen any facts that actually counter anything he's said.

Lebeau...it's not worth it. A lot of people just tend to stick their fingers in their ears and yell, "I'm not listening." when people bring up a reasonable point.

I had no idea they were going to put out two a year now! Scary. I liked the one a year thing!!!

That's a rumor. And trust me. He does. A lot. Not just saying it to say it, but I'm serious. Believe me, jt. ;):)
