To keep capacity similar, which they are going to need to do, it will have to be a similar length.

While I'm inclined to agree they haven't been using all of the Starspeeders in DHS (not sure abotu Disneyland). I wouldn't be surprised to see the ride time be a little bit longer.

I think that it could be a longer ride...people are easily willing to wait 120 mins for Soarin' on any given day, why not make Star Tours a little bit longer.

Anyway, the original Star Tours was supposed to be a much longer ride...can't remember the length? 8 mins or so?

I believe Martin's Star Tours tribute cited 20 minutes :)eek:) as the original length.

How about the motion for the new Star Tours version? With all the talk of the length of the ride, I am really interested in finding out if they have increased the motion of the ride, or if it will be roughly the same (no pun intended). When I first rode Body Wars, I was sick the rest of the day. A few years later, after Body Wars was tweaked, and then riding Star Tours and Back to the Future at Universal, the motion simulators never bothered me again.

Does anyone know if they are going to make it a rougher ride?

It doesn't look like they are going to put new posters up on the walls. On the right hand side you can see where the supports sticking out of the wall have been cut off. On the left hand side the supports have been cut back flush with the wall and covered over with what looks like pieces of plywood.

I've been wondering about this as well. Not sure how it is in DHS, but at least in Disneyland, Star Tours had become a pretty rough ride in the end. Motion was super bumpy/jerky and was not a smooth experience at all. Hoping they've invested some time and money into improving this for the new iteration!

Something is gonna have to go up there- it looks a little rough right now

I just hope they have done away with the "soundstage" bit when you first walk in. It was one thing in the early years, but with the direction the park has gone since then it just seems odd now.

As of park opening on May 3rd, 2011 the construction walls around the Star Tours attraction in Disney's Hollywood Studios have come down revealing a new warning sign, new wait time sign, and new FASTPASS return sign. Got my information from pictures seen on www.startourslive.com.
