Rogue One's was terrible.
Rise of Skywalker was much better.
This one was much, much better.
Don't forget about TRON: Legacy 10 years ago. Makes me wish they'd go back and re-do those effects.

Okay, now that I can breathe again between sobbing, screaming and cheering - here were my reactions in the moment:
In the face! I yield. I yield. I Cara Dune.
OMG the Tie fighter launch! So cool!
Girl squad. Take a memo, rest of the current Star Wars universe - THAT is GRRL power. (Even if it's totally the GRRL power Endgame bit redux. lol Steal from the best, baby.)
What the hell. It's a squadron of Terminators. Jon Favreau, I love you, man.
Mando, the Terminators are coming - at least pull out your Darksaber rather than a blaster! Cuts through anything not beskar, remember???
Mando throwing himself bodily in front of the child. #fatherhood #beautiful
In tears now, flowing down my face, literally begging my TV to let this be Luke.
Single saber, not double.
Green.
The hand!
OMG, welcome home, my hero!!!
R2!!!!
Blubbering sobbing ugly crying stupid mess
OMG tag scene!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Literally standing up cheering, applauding and bowing to my television set!
THAT IS HOW YOU STAR WARS.
A pure master class and gift of love from fans to fans.
That was everything. Everything.
Bless Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni for giving this show to us.
And a few afterthoughts:
I love you, Pedro. What you have done with this role is truly skilled, powerful and inspiring...
The framing of *those* shots were so perfect. I don't care that it was all no doubt laid out exactly like this in the concept art. Props to Peyton Reed for pulling it all off!
100%It makes sense for so many reasons. The baby shouldn’t be entrusted to anyone else...being the big one.
But let’s look under the hood here:
The two biggest fails of the Disney trilogy (there are many) have to be no big 3 reunion AND no Luke kick butt/fist pump scene.
This corrected the one in many ways that could be corrected.
You sir are a lucky man! My daughter just turned 4 and is now just starting to get in to it. Very much looking forward to when her and I can share moments like this!My 5 year old did not want me to watch this before her. So I told her I would get her up early and watch before school. So I hauled her out of bed at 5 AM, and we watched (image below from 5:01 AM with her Batuu-purchased Grogu and a hat my Secret Santa at work gave me yesterday). I cried. She cheered. My wife (who thinks we are crazy people) slept.
We just rewatched. She was so happy to see Luke. And R2. And I'm crying again. I love this show so much.View attachment 519625
The lone x-wing was a dead give away for me.Fantastic episode for sure! Luke was absolutely the right choice. When I finally saw the green blade and the black glove, I just about lost it.
100%
It makes me so mad when I think about the sequels and how they handled the legacy characters. This episode was how the fans wanted to be reintroduced to Luke Skywalker. It just goes to show, you can give the fans what they want, bring something new to the table, all while staying friendly to new viewers.
Oh I know where the problem is and I agree 100%.The answer is very simple. You need to put a creative in charge of the franchise. There is a reason this show works, and it starts with Favreau. He's not just good at what he does, he knows and respects star wars. And that is important. Kennedy is the problem, that should be overwhelmingly obvious. She's just not a good fit for the franchise.
Tooooo cute!!!!!!!!!!!!! I remember those days except my ds camped out for SWWs in a costume he planned. Me too. I shouted it out. Then the green confirmed it. Then the glove and the framing. Wasn’t sure which method they would use to pull it off though. But glad Mark gets a happy and satisfying Star Wars ending after all. Will be interesting to see what he says on Twitter once most people have caught up.The lone x-wing was a dead give away for me.

You're lucky. I woke up this morning to someone complaining on my newsfeed about a stupid X-wing showing up and how too damn small the universe is. So yeah, that told me what to expect and I was NOT HAPPY.I woke up this morning and was beyond angry. First thing I saw on Twitter was #Frogwoman in reference to the Mandalorian. Spent the day convinced that the Frog Woman from earlier this season was secretly a Jedi and would be showing up to save the day....
Thank you. I stopped watching the episode as soon as the credits started. I read your post and immediately went back to continue watching. I would've missed that scene. What a beautiful episode. Also if you didn't watch the post-credit scene, you might want to get on that
