There was never a peace treaty. Not ever hinted at in any of the mountains of material.

Mando takes place about 4 years after Jedi...which means there would have been an on-going battle to eradicate the threats and rebuild order.

Everything in the show jives with that.
I'm not an expert on Star Wars lore (nor do I care that much), but there was a peace treaty and The Mandalorian takes place 4 years after it was signed.

Oh...that’s stuff they pushed out for their reboot trilogy/debacle...

That’s a failure. Which is why they have quickly pivoted away from that - including manalorian.

What Mando is really doing is pulling on all the stuff that came more directly from Lucas and the EU. In that take...no treaty...just more turmoil.

More of a filler episode this week with some character development thought we might have had a two parter building to next week’s finale lets hope we get more grogu & boba action next week 😀✌️

I respect your opinion, but I want to know why you think this is a filler episode?

I thought this episode was possibly the best this season because it had great character development, it moved the story along, it had a great screenplay, and it was very fun to watch.

I think a legit “complaint”...if it qualifies...is that everything is super predictable. Especially to Star Wars fans.

But this is where Star Wars has gotten: I don’t care.

I’m not looking to be “shocked” or twisted up...I’m looking for adventure that has some basic respects for the pathos and logos...
To show somebody gets it.

And from the business side: wouldn’t that be a good way to sell t-shirts and toys? By not disappointing or confusing 50% of your fan pool?

I definitely agree. Complex stories, especially for shows like the Mandalorian, can get very confusing when you get too deep into different characters and try to come up with something brand new to shock the audiences. As much as I loved the Ahsoka episode and its complexity, I could tell it was starting to get borderline confusing for casual Star Wars fans that haven't watched The Clone Wars or Star Wars Rebels.

This episode wasn't complex which was really nice to see. It gave a good, easy to understand story with a fun and thrilling adventure. I really hope we see more episodes like this in future episodes and even in the other series like Rangers of the New Republic, Andor, and Obi-Wan Kenobi that just give fans an enjoyable show.

I think favreau/filoni have learned some of the lessons from both the Star Wars material and streaming programs.

And that is don’t complicate the development of your story and risk running out of time or ideas to finish it.

There was a time when these two “brilliant” Hollywood producers filmed a fantasy world filled with rich characters and plot twists that kept you on the edge of your seat...
...and then then ran overbudget and out of material and made the worst excuse for a series conclusion ever. Shameful and cringeworthy.

And then there were fired from their 3 Star Wars movies. True story.

I REALLY enjoyed this episode. Strong characterization and story driven just from content of the show itself. It didn't need the outside easter egg stuff. It worked unto itself and was emotionally involving and satisfying. Just plain GOOD. And kinda shocked I feel that way in an ep without the kid. Kudos to both Pedro and Bill for carrying me along. It was a pleasant reminder that while the baby is irresistible - so is the love of Din for him.

Not saying other eps aren't flashy and that I don't enjoy plenty of other guest stars (Carl, Timothy O, etc.), but this one was just a lovely episode unto itself while carrying the story forward and calling back within its own slowly building mythos with characters intrinsic to this story.

And yes, it made me just a bit more interested/invested in the Rangers show - especially if Cara gets to work with some of these other great characters we've met along the way.

Keep her on Mandalorian. I don't care to see her on another show. stick with what works. not interested at all in this ranger spin off show or the ashoka show. ahsoka is not a strong enough character to carry her own show.
