Splitsville

The original information I read from somewhere (can't find where now) was...

They will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily. After 10:30 pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, the second floor will only be open to those 21 years old and older.
Bowling prices at Splitsville will be $15 for an hour and a half except between 5 and 10 p.m., when it will be $20 per hour and a half.

So, will it go back to the cheaper price after 10pm? And will there be a 21+ only time?

I was looking at the price and thinking "bargain", but of course it is $15/$20 per person, not per lane!

Yes that is correct, I have updated with more details.

Wow, that is actually very cheap for WDW entertainment. A game of mini-golf is $11.75 for a single game.. which is about an hour or so of entertainment. A movie is $11. $15-$20 for 1.5hrs is cheap relative to other options in the area.

Unfortunately it's still $$$ compared to non WDW prices (ex: $42/hr per lane here during peak hours.. up to 6ppl shoes not included).

But it is still significantly cheaper than I expected it to be.. lets see how long they last :)

Based on their food and style - this should be the new 'goto' for adults on property.

That's what I've been trying to work out - last time we went 2 of us played four rounds of mini-golf (2 x full price, 2 x half price), so $15 looks good compared to that.

Last place I went bowling on holiday was £25 for five (probably the price up to 6 people) for an hour, including shoes back in 2010, which at £1:$1.55 = $38.75, so the equivalent for 90mins would be £37.50/$58.13, which could be nearly half of the price of WDW ($75/$100). The complex that we were at would be like Disney, in that they try to keep you on site for as much of your holiday as they can, and so can up the price accordingly. Their prices would also include tax, which I am going to guess that these Splitsville prices won't?

I think this is a great addition to DTD. However, it's still not something that is going to make me plan a trip. But I also know this wasn't built to do that. They're more than likely trying to get more locals into DTD as well as giving vacationers a reason to go to DTD seeing as how it's been a ghost town for the past few years. It'd be nice if they transitioned into fixing PI as soon as this opens.

i'll second this. much cheaper than i expected, and GOOD! it should be. don't read this and inflate the price point, disney execs.

i'd definitely bowl a few games in the late night time hours in a 21+ section.

With a DJ. And Cast Member nights on Thursdays. Sound familiar?

Yeah, sounds familiar - so it's going to be like a free mini PI? Or will you have to pay to get in? (Pay for food, drinks, bowling, - nothing been said about dancing)

I thought that I remembered something about having a dance floor somewhere in there when it was originally announced, but I hadn't read anything about it since.

Good to hear that people will have somewhere to go on-site again.

It looks really good, but since it is a bowlin alley, I will probably only set foot in it once just to check it out.
I mean who wants to go bowling on vacation?

Same people who play video games or go to concerts or go to a movie. I can watch TV at home; looks like they should strip all rooms of televisions following your logic

Not to mention miniature golf. I have a couple miniature golf courses near my house which I never go to, but end up miniature golfing when I go on vacation.

I am the opposite. I have never gone to Disney's courses and don't miniature golf ... well, ever. I did when I was like 12. But the entertainment wore off. ... Bowling is the same way. There's a Splitsville in Miami. I suppose I could be spending a Saturday night there instead of watching a two-year-old animated film on ABC Family while skimming Disney fan forums and getting TT/WDW updates from another MAGICal member who is at the world as we speak (as of 7:30 tonight, Mermaid had a 130-minute standby line ... utter insanity for a ride that I've never waited more than 15 minutes for in Anaheim, even on a holiday weekend!)
