Splash Mountain still on schedule?

Even so, I'd say there's 8 attractions that should be down a month out of every year:

Splash
Mansion
Pirates
Jungle
Small World
Pan
Space
Buzz

If I was getting greedy, I'd throw Big Thunder in as well. But they could easily close 1 or 2 on the "offseason" months and have all of them open during the busy time.

Do you know if the WDWRR gets an annual upgrade?

No, I'm not sure. But I have a gut feeling that one of the trains is refreshed every year, but I'm not 100% sure.

Momentary thread drift....

Did you notice imayoyo announced that they have a tenant for the former Virgin Record store at DTD? Any rumors pass your way on who is going there?

end drift....

They actually announced that today, if I'm not mistaken. There's a thread about it somewhere.

And I don't try and get rumors for DTD anymore since I was told AC was dead as a doornail. I have no interest in the place.

Where? Who? Anyone know? Link? That is big news if you are right. Needs it's own thread.

Well, there are some saying they are new and some saying they are old. @ tweeted this about 45 minutes ago now "http://twitter.com/
Just rode splash, new lighting, everything looked fantastic and boats are the same :) http://myloc.me/4iGIO"

I'm gonna go with the boats are the same since i've heard that more than they are new, but maybe there are some new, some old.

this must be the case, because I can promise you.. the one I saw was new.. or newly coated.. the hand grab wasn't brown, it was tan... they were previously brown

don't blame Disney at this point.. Everyone else that wasn't deluding themselves knew this 2 years ago when it was closed..

Sorry, I guess this post was kinda harsh... Honestly, AC is gone, don't disrespect it's memory by tarnishing it with bad attitude...

I miss horizons, but I've made my peace with it being gone for good.. Now Journey Into Imagination? Hell no! FIX IT! :)

You made my point for me in this post. Yes, Horizons was a terrific ride, but it was replaced by a terrific, Disney ride.

The AC was something that was Disney, and it will probably be replaced by a chain restaurant, much like JII was replaced by a substandard ride. In that case, it's always going to be a sore spot.;)

Well, that was a lot of "sound and fury, signifying nothing" over the lap bars, now wasn't it? Oh well.....:)

Try again. They're there, just haven't been implemented yet because it wasn't as much of plug and play fix as they thought.

Bear in mind, the number 1 cause of downtime at this attraction is stupid people getting out of their logs, hence the very well-defined notice on the 'You Will Get Wet' sign right before boarding that now boldly states "If You Choose to Ride You MUST REMAIN IN THE LOG AT ALL TIMES".

I'm not sure if the lap bars were designed with the attraction itself in Tokyo, but trust me, this time next year you'll be eating your words.

Yes, Horizons was a terrific ride, and it was replaced by a terrifically expensive, hyped ride. Gravitron+

Well, considering much of this particular thread (and not a hypothetical one in the future discussing yet another SM refurb) is the subject of my comment, I'm feeling ok with the quote. Now, if next year the subject comes up again (of which I have little doubt), and I use the same quote with the lap bars in place, then I'll be worried about "eating my words."

Besides, it's not as if I used the full quote to describe the furor over lap bars this year or anything.....

Mission: SPACE is a bit more than just a gravitron... I agree with it being terrifically expensive and over hyped, but it is a better attraction then people give it credit. It is still one of the better rides at Epcot now. I honestly like it better than Soarin'...

The lap bars were designed with the attraction itself at Tokyo Disneyland, and that version of the ride opened just a few months after the Magic Kingdom's did - both in 1992.

Aside from the lapbars, the logs are virtually identical - with the only noticable differences being the rabbit "hood ornament" on the front of the logs has some color brushed into him, and - thanks to the lapbars - there's no need for those giant, mold covered bumper-cushions that the MK attraction got a few years after opening with the hope that it would keep people seated more than the original grab bars did.

Honestly, I prefer the TDL lapbar logs greatly to the the MK logs. The lapbars have no affect on the ride experience, and the lack of that disgusting mold-infestation in front of you makes the ride a more open, enjoyable experience.

Making a fairly educated guess in saying I'm one of the only people in this thread that's ridden both versions mulitple times, believe me when I tell you all the doom and gloom over lapbars is very, very silly in this case.
