It is irritating.
That merch should be on the shelf for Park fans arriving this weekend at WDW to enjoy, not hoarded by local AP 'flippers' buying purely to profit from.
Makes me angry...
What happened to the AP restrictions on buying mass quantities like this..?
It was just last year or so the company announced cracking down on such behavior.
Is that only being enforced at Disneyland Resort in CA..?
Is the Company hurting so much for cash now that they are turning a blind eye and just lifting the restrictions to bring in the sales?

It is kinda an even worse move to allow behavior like this to occur. What did they think was going to happen when they announced the change? They better not discontinue Bre’r merch till it closes. That would at least be fair.
I have a lot of history dealing with flippers as I collect figures.

Why should they care? As long as the merch is selling out and turning profits, Chapek is a happy man.

I really wonder if the DL is going “quickly” how quickly? The new WDW timeframe fits with the Jim Hill rumor. Assuming Pro’s sources are accurate.
Time that with Bre’r merch being phased out...DL’s maybe gone in the next couple of months.

I don’t know but it is concerning that the DL app says an “exciting refresh is coming soon” yet says nothing on the WDW app.

I'm very interested to see how they approach the log situation. Brer rabbit is literally carved in the front of every log.. I don't see a simple way to have that removed/covered on every single vehicle. At DL, the logs have needed some work for a while. It would be lovely to have some budget go to reworking the entire flume to accommodate side by side seating. The logs need to be replaced anyways.. not just bc of brer rabbit but also bc of its problematic drainage system, guest discomfort, and efficiency for ride operations. After all, both pirates and small world have received brand new boats in recent years. We heard from Hill that the attraction will take minimum 2-3 years for the overlay.. all that time can't possibly be going to set dressing.. Guardians/Jurassic world all finished their overhauls within a year and those changes were pretty drastic. We know splash will utilize the same sets/animatronics/ride system for the most part.. so we can assume the ride is going to go through a major mechanical refurbishment as well. Crossing my fingers for a new flume/logs

That means literally nothing. Also WDW’s will apparently go after DL’s. The timeframe for WDW Pro gave lines up with Jim Hill.

If there’s one thing to take solace in the original link to the DPB announcement article has been bumped off the homepage on both the DL and WDW apps, but I agree it’s concerning in terms of any hope of a “farewell send off”.

It means to me that DLs is happening a lot sooner than WDW. If we re going by 2022/2023 which is what Jim Hill said then that Doesn’t leave a whole lot of time left for Splash at DL. I’m hoping it gets canceled but my more realistic hope is they don’t close Splash at DL until after Christmas 2021.
So how exactly that means “nothing” I’m not sure.

2021 seems like a reasonable timeframe given how early the project is in the design phase. The big question will be how much they are redoing or reusing. Demolition could start sooner if it is a genuine gut job.

My point is a posting on an app could mean anything. Not really to base a whole timeframe off of.

None of this could mean anything. The whole thing could get cancelled or it could happen next month. What’s the point of discussing anything then? We re discussing opinions based on the info we have at the moment. To say that it means nothing that the DL app says it happening soon but the WDW app says nothing would be false. Especially because it lines up with rumors we are hearing. If both apps said the same thing or both said nothing you would have more of a point.
