How about we keep magic kingdom the way it is, maintain things properly so it doesn’t become old and worn out, and just keep expanding offering new attractions to entertain and spread out the crowds
Attractions that have served their purpose/timeframe (as in no longer popular) can see a redo from time to time but it’s a waste of time they could be building other things and funds to replace one of the most popular attractions at the park.

I down for that. Still need New Magic Kingdom. Things change, times change, need to change with it. You get old/ current MK, New MK expands and updates.

If Chapek were still in charge he'd look at this and delay the refurb just to see how long he could get this kind of extra revenue.

I think that is the biggest problem (excluding attraction conditions) with WDW; each park individually does not have enough attractions for the crowds that show up, making the experience less and less enjoyable—and a worse value. I’m glad I’ve got the local pass so I can just show up, enjoy the parks in the morning, and then get the heck out. And not spend a dime on anything.
I hate that it requires a long post but here’s my thoughts on this complicated day:
1. Splash Mt is my favorite ride at MK, and my favorite log flume anywhere
2. I am very sad it’s closing
3. With the parks being overcrowded, and another mountain about to structurally fail (Space) this was not the correct choice and a waste of resources
4. Since the physical ride is not changing, and it’s great, the new attraction has a big head start on being a crowd pleaser (see Mission Breakout in CA) but seeing as the original is practically perfect (unlike ToT DCA) it has an incredibly high bar to overcome to be considered a superior attraction, I hope it is.
5. Other than it not fitting in FL PatF is a fine choice for a flume ride (I don’t really care about the topography.). I still think PatF should have been DL exclusive and retheme MK to something like Coco.
6. I think it is a massive mistake to remove Facillier and base this ride on a yet undebuted D+ series is by far is my biggest worry this ride will flop.
8. I hope the new ride is as good or better than Splash, but I will remain a person who believes this is a big mistake. As is blacklisting Zip.
9. I will complain to no end if they ruined this ride.

It is sad to watch as a fan. More Disney decisions now adays are head scratchers and then they wonder why things aren’t working out as they hoped.
There were dozens and dozens of time I visited MK without going on Splash Mountain.
And it was still special for me.

MK is going to be a terrible place to visit the next two years. Imagine the stress that taking all that capacity offline is going to put on Space, BTMRR, 7DMT, and Tron
When I read my above post a realized how it sounds so let me explain further.
Tiana is an extremely important princess for many reasons.
If you ask the imagineers in charge of this project if they would rather tell her story by
A: Shoehorning Tiana into Splash’s ride system forcing them to tell a story in a way that matches
whats already there
B: Decide what story they want to tell and how they want to tell it. Then create a ride system that gives Tiana the ride she deserves.
If the imagineers in charge of this would choose B that makes what Disney is doing truly disgusting.
The first African American Princess to have a ride in a Disney Park and she isn’t even worth doing to right.
Sad.
