Yeah, most of the rides at World are not pristine anymore. It's not just a Splash thing; it's a Disney dosen't want to pay to fully maintain their rides thing.
While I agree Disney has and is being cheap, I feel like it's also a combination of the fact that they can't afford to shut down rides for the prolonged times it would require to fix everything. I'm sure there are ways to do these things through third shift work, but I feel like that makes it even harder and would effect show quality as well. I feel like there really is not right answer to this.

The first time I noticed a "broken effect" was the trim brake on the final drop of Space Mountain.

Splash is the easiest ride to see what's broken because the AAs are up close. I'm curious how bad IASW AAs are. Pirates is also pretty bad.
But think of Disnesys's future!
Chapek says building villas for the ultra rich is what Walt was all about!

im usually at DL every other week, and the way some of you guys are describing the attractions in wdw falling apart makes me grateful that DL's attractions arent in that bad of shape, except for RSR in DCA. Im gonna be completely honest, i will ride splash over and over again for the last 2 hours before park closing, and comparing what i saw in the wdw video to what i saw on the DL verison, it looks like they care more for DL's. Since september they've been constantly fixing effects from broken speakers to repairing the infamous brer rabbit on the train thing (which was still working great right before it went down for refurb). they even fixed the hound dog in the boat which i have video of! but i will say we are missing one of our swamp boys

Less animatronics and moving parts. That’s a given.
You underestimate Disney's neglecting capabilities. The ride's scenery and characters are likely to be mostly video based. So instead of frozen robots, you'll get blank or glitchy video.

Disneyland has to treat their attractions better because it's more of a local park. Not saying Locals don't go to world, but the majority of their customer base is out of state or country tourists. They don't rely on repeat buisness as much as Disneyland does. If they cheap out amd the Locals decide I'm not coming back that's a big issue.

This is hogwash that’s been believed and repeated way too much. TDA/Disneyland doesn’t care enough about their fans to the point where they take the time to think about us and make sure the attractions are in the best shape possible for our sake. They just don’t. However, what they will do is play into nostalgia. That is something they do for fans, but also mostly for money. There have been a few instances where fan backlash caused some change at Disneyland, but no, we don’t have the kind of power that you speak of.

This isn’t the early 2000s, when fans were calling out the neglect online and big changes were made before the 50th in 2005. Nowadays, there are too many various Disneyland fans that are chugging the right amount of Kool-Aid and are therefore happy to return again and again, no matter what. There is no big issue here.

BTW, Splash is not in great shape here either.

So I guess our only hope for Parks getting the TLC they need is for OLC to take over maintaining them. Because in theory, Land should be taken care of because you want to keep your recurring customers happy, but then again, this is 2022 Disney cutting corners amd pinching pennies is the name of the game.

Ima gonna have to brush up on my Japanese. Love what OLC has been doing. And, the price has gotten where it's the same price as visiting WDW and staying on property. Someday when the pandemic allows us to fly without a mask!

At this point I'm not looking at this as a retheme, I'm looking at it as a mercy kill. There is absolutely no way Splash should be operating in this shape.

How Do You Do?
  • Third frog not moving
  • First goose on right barely moving
  • Mr. Bluebird not moving
  • Sweeping bunny 1 not moving
  • Br’er Fox barely moving while yelling at Br’er Bear
  • Br’er Fox’s jaw stuck closed
  • Br’er Bear only bobbing head
  • Br’er Bear not moving up and down
  • Jumping Br’er Rabbit not moving
  • Jumping fish not working
  • Br’er Frog not moving
  • Br’er Fox speaker still blown
  • Br’er Rabbit WAY too loud next to music
LP/ Br’er Fox Cave
  • At least 2 spinning beehives broken
  • Br’er Bear with beehive barely wobbling
  • Br’er Bear speaker still blown
  • Laughing Br’er Rabbit barely moving
  • Audio not working
  • Br’er Fox barely moving with beehive above him
  • Only one water stream working in Laughing Place
  • Turtle geysers not working
  • Neither turtle working
  • First frog not working
  • Br’er Fox barely moving
  • Br’er Fox jaw stuck open
  • Black curtain behind vultures removed showing behind the scenes
  • Left vulture not moving
  • Br’er Fox audio out at top of big plunge
Zip A Dee Doo Dah
  • 3rd Swamp Boy missing
  • Boat not rocking back and forth
  • Audio still blown in Gator Attack sequence
  • Br’er Fox barely moving
  • Br’er Bear not moving in and out
  • Br’er Gator not moving
  • Br’er Rabbit audio at end very statically
  • Audio also cuts off part of words

Regardless of how anyone feels about the attraction or the retheme or whatever, this state of an attraction in a Disney park looking like is is 10000% unacceptable, holy cats. This is PITIFUL. The fact that this is a lightening lane option is disgusting.

Ima gonna wait and see. And no, I don't think they'll be able to improve on Tony Baxter's design; even with this change!
Wasn’t Baxter named as a consulting Imagineer on the redesign?

It’s going to be:
Tony Baxter with a huge budget, racist source movie, and a bunch of repurposed cartoon animal AAs
vs.
Tony Baxter with a small budget, unpleasable fans, and strict PR oversight!

He was, but I think insiders suggested that was nothing more than an honorary title and that he likely wouldn't really be involved in the design.

This was the show quality on Christmas day last year. Logs were stacked at final lift and at unload, took about 15+ mins after last drop to unload.

But what really caught my eyes was emergency lightning left on before and along the final lift. The inner-me was ecstatic because I got to see things you normally didn't gett to see...but the other me was basically facepalming..

I told the CMs about it after getting off and they said thanks. But this was already around 10:30pm...right around park closing time, so not sure if anything was done about it.

I don't ride SM enough to notice every single detail/effect that's broken, but I did notice a lot of AA's broken or half working. But the biggest one to me was the leaping fountains and/or geysers(?) -- they were all turned off that night.

Work lights being left on has been a very odd trend lately. On my most recent trip the work lights were left on in the Haunted Mansion (behind the ghost projections on the mirror, making it clear you were looking at a screen behind the glass), ToT drop shaft and a couple others.

Also ROTR has had a random generic office trash can sitting in guest view on the ride itself, just before the final drop simulators. How it's remained in place for that long is beyond me.

I thought I was the only person who noticed, I noticed for the first time in early December, but who knows how long it's been there.
