Splash Mountain : Critters rolling around in a cart full of jewels in the laughin' place as well as waterfalls reflecting the laughing faces of critters.

Yep it does, usually for 2 weeks. This is almost 2 months.

No, apparently last year it was only down for a couple of weeks.....:shrug:

Maybe this year they are doing a big refreshing of the ride. Paint, AA work, sound, lighting, cleaning, etc.

perhaps the extra time is to actually drain the water and clean it? i heard they only do this once every few years, along with all other water based rides, like once every 3yrs
