Mad Men is slowly killing me this season, it's way too repitative in the story line. The only reason I'm watching it now is to see Don Draper's inevitable demise. Now that is something I don't want to miss.

We started House of Cards, but have not yet had time to finish it.

DD wants to see Dispicable Me 2; none of us are really interested in Lone Ranger. This pains me to say as I LOVE Johnny Depp.

@ParentsOf4 where can we find the British version of House of cards?

Sorry but the American version of House of Cards can't touch the original British version.

What makes the original so much better is the tong-in-cheek treatment they give it. The American version is much too serious.

Haven't seen the British version, but will try too now that you've said so.

The only thing that really bothers me about US House of Cards is that Spacey really tries to hard on his southern drawl. Few actors can pull it off.

I would maybe check BBC worldwide, as I'm pretty sure it was made by BBC. I could be wrong though. If that fails, amazon is your friend.

The original House of Cards trilogy is available on Netflix.

You'll be shocked at how similar the basic story is.

All I can say is: "You might very well think that; I couldn't possibly comment.";)

Speaking of the BBC, Sherlock is fantastic. Cumberbatch and Friedman are fantastic and the writers Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss have done an excellent job adapting Conan Doyle's stories in a fresh and smart way.

Speaking of The Wire, The Complete Series DVD box set is on sale over at Amazon, all 23 glorious discs.

Yes. Sherlock is awesome.
But, three episodes every two years?!?!?

For political shows, I need to start House of Cards. I love me some Veep for Washington humor.

Yeah, it was a bummer to see Don take such a huge step backwards this season. I do feel like we are treading familiar territory. Roger even said as much in the season premiere with his "doors" story. Turns out, life is just more doors.

But Sunday's episode turned me around. I still think this season is the weakest yet, but I can't wait to see what happens next.

The American House of Cards is good, not great. There are a couple of episodes of pure filler in the middle. Now that some time has passed since I watched it, I'll have to watch the original for comparison.

Lol. This was exactly what I was going to say. Breaking Bad I just couldn't get into.

Also, anyone else a little sad that we are so dry for news that we are talking about nothing related to Disney? I even see it looks like the Star Wars thread is making a comeback...

I blame the season for giving us nothing much to talk about. We know in about 2 months time the announcements will start rolling in and real discussions can start again.
