I think Paradise Pier looks very pretty. Like a more romantic version of the classic seaside amusement park.

Okay, so let's see. There's Dinosaur, Everest, the safari (does that count as a ride?)... What am I missing?

Depends on the definition of a ride...

DAK: Dinosaur, Everest, Kali River Rapids, Triceratops Spin, Primevil Whirl, Safari (+Wildlife train if you want to count that)
DHS: Star Tours, Tower of Terror, Rock 'N Rollercoaster, Toy Story Mania, Backlot Tour, Great Movie Ride

So, they both have 6 rides, seven for DAK if you want to count the train.

Pretty sad. That's why both need a ton of new rides to fill up the attraction count.

Primeval Whirl and Triceratops Spin.

DHS has Tower, Rockin Roller Coaster, Great Movie Ride, Star Tours, Backlot Tour, and Midway Mania. So they're tied on the rides front.

Gosh that is so sad. 6 rides each. Oy.
I'm surprised that they are that close. However, when you figure that DAK is bigger in space then MK, DHS and Epcot combined, it is pretty pitiful. When it comes to shows DAK has Nemo, ITTBAB and, of course, the Notazoo part.

RIDES IN AK VS DHS

Animal Kingdom has 7 rides and Hollywood Studios has 6

If we were judging on quality of those rides:

Expedition Everest < The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
Dinosaur < Rock 'n Rollercoaster Starring Aerosmith
Kali River Rapids < Toy Story Mania
Primeval Whirl < Star Tours
Kilimanjaro Safari > Great Movie Ride
Wildlife Express Train = Backlot Tour
Triceratop Spin >

AK - 4
DHS - 5

Equal levels of mediocrity. I gave Animal Kingdom an extra point because of a cohesive theme and beautiful scenery.

I don't/won't count that sideways train that travels about 500 feet (give or take). :p

EPCOT doesn't fair much better ... when you factor quality either ...

1. Spaceship Earth
2. Nemo Clam Mobiles
3. Soarin'
4. Living with the Land
5. Imagination
6. Ellen's Energy Adventure
7. Mission Space
8. Test Track
9. Gran Fiesta Tour
10. Maelstrom

Right. I remember I would ride Soarin' Over California and maybe Mulholland Madness (now Goofy's Sky School), then I'd walk, no, run to Disneyland. I remember reading all the criticisms and backlash towards the park. It was just bad and DCA was always referred to as "the other park." I remember a lot of locals saying they had wished the parking lot was still there.

A well known Imagineer famously stated a similar quote...

* I liked it better when it was a parking lot....*

Well, there's shows. And DAK has the animals. I think DAK is worth more than DHS, personally.

Me too. I find there a lot more to do at DAK and it just a lot more fun to walk around in and see the sights. I think the shows plus the walking trails make DAK pretty interesting. Conversely, I'm not as impressed with the shows and other ancillary attractions at DHS (except Fantasmic!) and get kinda bored beyond the headliners.

On the flip side, the top rides at DHS are all quite good and very re-rideable. So, you can spend more time there riding things over and over and still have a lot of fun.
