Maybe skull island is a third gate candidate.Well, lushly themed jungles. It would look weird. And plus, there are dinosaurs in Skull Island.
I'm pretty sure he's referring to the themed elements of Everest, not the thrill factor. I'm sure anyone can name a metric ton of coasters that destroy anything Disney built from a thrill perspective, but they're usually just ugly naked track and don't have any themed elements to them. Universal is one of the only well known parks I can think of that has attempted to build coasters on par with Disney's level of theming. And there still exist plenty of Universal coasters that are just naked and exposed track.
The planet Earth doesn't have many good themed coasters, under the premise that anything with a naked track-pylon portion (e.g. Dueling Dragons, Mystery Mine, On Crystal Wings, Manta, etc.) would not qualify as wholly-themed. A fully-themed coaster is a rarity, and to my knowledge, only Disney has achieved it out-of-doors. (Kudos to them for continuing to do it with HK's Grizzly Mountain and the Dwarfs' Mine Train).
It would be great to see Universal complete its first outdoor, fully-themed coaster with this Amber Mine Ride rumor.
Lol, there is no coaster I won't ride. But I'm not immune to fear! I'm not doing Summit Plummet!! I'm as chicken as the Cadbury Bunny!! Bawk-bawk-bawk! But I wouldn't look down on anyone for being afraid, anyway.
Fair point. I had automatically imagined something similar to Big Thunder, but it could easily be majority indoors. Maybe those in the know can enlighten us.Wouldn't the amber mine take place indoors... Like a mine? I didn't even consider it being outdoors for any significant length, until I read this post. There's so much more potential of cool effects if it was indoors, with some outdoor moments.
I just have to say, though I haven't seen it in person, I LOOOOOVE Crystal Wings, such a great themed rollercoaster for a park
The rest of the park is meh.
And funnel cake.I still like The Rage, the raft ride, Spinnovator, Cyclone, Boo Blasters, and others. Mountain projection show isn't bad either. Wish the Stunt Coaster still had all its original effects though and I already miss Songebob, as sad as that sounds.
For $80 for a season's pass, it's a worthwhile park.
And funnel cake.
Do you love Behemoth and Leviathan, though?!
I've never been to a Six Flags or Cedar Point, but we have two (IMO) awesome coasters at Canada's Wonderland - Leviathan and Behemoth.
It's the "air time" thing. Flying off the slide...it scares me. I need my body connected to something! What's wrong with summit plummet?
It's a lot of fun & you get all wet
If you don't eat for 2 days before AND 2 days after, you can have Tiny Toms in the morning, and funnel cake just before you go home. WITH strawberries and ice cream.I do, but not that 1.5 hour wait for Leviathan. Tiny Toms are my junk food of choice there.
I actually like Behemoth more. It's a longer ride I think.

How about you go ride it and then tell me how it went?
Yes, since 2006.Canada's Wonderland is owned by CedarFair, the same company that owns Cedar Point, Knott's Berry Farm and a few other parks across the country, including the old Paramount parks.
This is not what I have heard. Are you saying that your body is totally, at all times, connected to the slide and you do NOT leave it at ALL? Ever at all? You are ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS connected to something? (Always?)There really is no chance for air time. There are no hills.
