Saw Gravity in IMAX 3D last night. Quite a spectacular, gripping piece of work.

There are a couple of plot quibbles the astronaut geeks will take issue with, but the effects are so damn good... it's like it was shot on location in orbit. And the sound design is superb. I can see this one racking up all the tech awards at the Oscars... but maybe some acting ones for Sandy and George as well. Especially Sandy.

Agreed on both counts. However, others have implied that the lines are already being significantly impacted.

It also depends on what day you go, I guess. I can tell you from what I experienced HM, Pirates and SSE, for example, were insanely crowded with the longest waits I've ever seen for them for a significant portion of the day. The only exception was SSE which cleared up later in the day, but the line was still long, the same story with TT.

I can't wait to see this! I peeked my head inside the theater last night during the premier for about 10 minutes and the graphics were so real it looked like it really was filmed in space! A must in 3D!

So, why then are the SR-71, F-117, and B-2 all dark colors?

SR-71 was designed to fly above missile range - it would have stood out like a sore thumb even to a simple IR sensor as hull design temp is around 1100 deg F at normal cruising speed so it literally glows the fuel actually circulates under the skin to preheat the fuel and cool the skin, F-117 and B-2 are both radar evading and tend to fly at night and incorporate classified technology to reduce IR signature to ambient levels, Fun fact for F-117 initial radar absorbing skin was PINK!!!!. That did not go over well with the pilots who wanted to fly 'The Pink Jet' - so the USAF blew through a few million more to turn the radar absorber black... Now 'The Black Jet' that's cool...

The C-17 is loud, slow and generates a massive radar signature, Adding black would only make it easier to hit, It's nickname is 'The Aluminum Overcast' as opposed to the C-5 which is known as 'The Aluminum Cloud'

I think these are the most important parts of Po4's post. They continue to raise costs, but the average American pay stays the same. It's pricing a lot of people out. They don't care. Raise 'em again. To hell with the public.

Universal built a crazy successful land. They invested a lot of money in a time when more and more companies were collectively tightening their budgets (and sphincters) and approaching with caution- Disney included. Again, they don't care. To hell with them, we're number one and... wait, they're building a part two now?

Yeah.

Disney stopped caring about it's fans. Or, at least, the ones who pay the bills, and have been dedicated for many years. The ones they should be embracing the hardest, they are pushing away.

And when Disneyland opened the country was in the midst of a severe recession as I recall, It was wildly successful once again proving that customers will flock to TRUE VALUE for money.

Can't wait to see this...they had me at the trailer. Hoping to get out Sunday afternoon after kids soccer games.

HA!

No, not better than Horizons, but the whole Horizons fiasco (and lies!) really gets to me so it's best I not think about it too much. The only thing I can hope for is that when HP's contract expires they turn it into a real Space pavilion. M:S is a nice little ride, but it's forgettable... that is, if it doesn't make you sick.

Agree with ya....and sorry to remind you of the tragedy.
This week saw the 30th Anniversary of the attraction...hope you spent some time listening to the great music.
That score always moves me.

I can't even imagine what an Epcot imitator would be like.... a watered down emptier version of an already watered down, empty park? They could put up just turnstiles and a sign and it could be considered an Epcot imitator.

Disney already tried that once....
It was the original version of *California Adventure*....

:depressed:

It was half current EPCOT wannabe...half half-a$$ed Hollywood Studios. Well, at least that was my impression of the original DCA.
Then we had the recent refresh that added Cars Land and other additons...so now it just feels more like a West Coast version of DHS.

She's really quite talented. (I'm a major Tangled fan) They should let her do a mural for a new, exciting EPCOT pavilion while letting her concept art inform the animators of a new movie. Wait...wrong decade.

Indeed.
The day a *new exciting Pavilion* opens at EPCOT with a MURAL inside will be the day i expire from sheer joy.

I really miss that amazing collection of attraction murals we used to have in that Park.
Some seriously awesome, museum quality pieces were lost over the years as they were painted over for blank, solid color walls and ceilings.

Far too few remain...those that do need to be cherished.
I would love to see a new mural introduced.

Hey...how about that there Imagination Pavilion...?
That could use a bit of life....

You are probably right it varies depending on the day and time you go. I just found it interesting that people had such polar opposite experiences.
