Spirited Lunchtime Musings:

More importantly, been sitting on this for a while, but word is that Touring Plans ed the folks at CP/TDO off and they are no longer being credentialed for anything. Any comments @lentesta?

We're getting exceptional cooperation from executives down through hourly CMs on our Hotel Room View project, even as of this afternoon. And Disney management has called when they think something we've written is unfair. I expect that if something like my California Grill review made management really mad, they'd be in touch to talk about it.

Hotel View Project....

Brilliant. Bloody brilliant.

What a resource.

Saturdays are a complete disaster at F&W. Pandemonium.
"Pandemonium", isn't that the new show that is going to replace La Nouba?

Anyway, I appreciate what Spirit is saying about not stopping going. That that is what TDO wants. For all of us doom and gloomers to shut up and go away. But for me, I have given up. I just don't care anymore. I have found a new Happy Place that I quite enjoy and that's where I'll be. I don't think TDO will ever let WDW become the place I used to love again. I keep up with what's going on down there through these boards. And that's ok with me. I don't need to drop a huge wad of cash just to be disappointed and angry (as someone said in another thread, not frothy angry but a slow burn angry).
I would rather just go have fun at Universal.

Epcot was not packed. F&W Festival was packed. Believe it or not...there is a difference.

Yep ... just weave in and out of the drunks and you can ride (what there is to actually ride).
All those drunks and wannabe foodies. Veggie haggis?!?! Like seriously?!?! Of course, their average guest is afraid of a salad to begin with (and thinks that it should simply come out of a bag like at the Wal-Mart) and wants to claim WDW is becoming a bastion of communism for placing chicken on a flatbread.

Here's me, the lone wolf....still digging SHIELD.

That just proves how bad your hillbilly tastes are ... other than friends and spouses and food, you just got baaaaad taste, boy.

I'll give it one or two more outings if I can. But I'd rather not, which isn't a good sign.

Wish I had started keeping a score card every time something got torn out that some folks care deply about.

Horizons, Spectromagic, Adventurers Club, PI, Seven Seas Lagoon development, Court of Angels, Character Integrity...

Personally I could care less about the flight of stairs, and Ill still be able to go to Club 33 whenever I want - at the end of the day, its still going to be there there. Not like the day I rode in the front of the monorail to see the last few swings at the Horizons building, hey, theres two things you cant do anymore! I do understand though why people get emotional about certain things, but whenever one of "these things happen" sides seem to get drawn up like its 1861. No wonder this community cant get together to effect positive change...

I appreciate your views, but as I've said, 99% of all folks who visit DL can't get into Club 33 (although it never ceases to amaze me how every blogging 'knows someone') and that is a beautiful, quiet nook that has been there longer than I have been alive. I get why losing it is an issue and I support @EPCOT Explorer 's friend Andy Castro for his reporting on it. Corless really is out of touch yet again.

Hey, I resemble that remark. Us hillbillies only have taste in our mouths. And if it ain't deep fried and slathered in gravy it ain't food.

OK, but that doesn't quite answer my question. Are you/TP on WDW's current media invite list and were you removed recently?

I wasn't aware of that project of yours. Interesting. And looks like lots of work. I generally request areas at Disney and elsewhere and if the room locale is unacceptable, I tell them and get moved. Is Kevin Myers helping the project?

Haven't read your CG review, although I heard it was far from glowing.I will check it out.

Out of curiosity, can you list a few examples where Disney management contacted you because they felt you were being unfair? And did that contact come directly from execs or from Dr. Blondie and Co at CP?

I liked SHIELD. I think many people were expecting to see super heroes such as Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, etc. They should have a read the description of the show before watching and perhaps they would have appreciated it more.

That was my wife. She complained "where are the superheroes?" after the premiere. Once I explained the gist of the series, she's interested but it is not what she expected.

I don't have a clue what it is. But it doesn't hold my attention like something like Revolution has (Elizabeth Mitchell helps!)

I know why it's important, but I'm just numb now-waiting for the monorail to get taken out and cement in the lagoon at this poimt

I'm not sure how I'd know if I was on or off. Is it your understanding that they send some sort of communication when they drop you? If so, I haven't received one. But I never got a "welcome to the club" communication either when we started getting invites. I suspect that invites may be a largely ad-hoc process.

As for the past communications, I don't recall the specific thing they didn't like. It's been a long, long time. They objected by contacting Bob (Sehlinger) through their Media Relations, with an email chain. I explained my side. We didn't change our coverage. Everyone moved on. We've got media invites and lots of cooperation since then. A couple of minor disagreements are not going to damage a long-term relationship.
