Another observation on our visit last week...where in the heck were the Photopass Photographers? Sure, there were some there, but nowhere near as many as last year. Last year, not only were they everywhere, but they were actively encouraging folks to use the service.

This year, no discounted offers, price has gone up drastically, and no service.

Seems to be a trend.

Anyone have anything different for a recent experience?

They were MIA in august as well, But the Price of the photopass is what $159 these days, It was a good deal at 69 bucks and I used to buy them - not any more 159 is insane

We used to do the discounted offer for $99 if you paid ahead of time, and I think they even offered a discount on the PhotoPass plus if you bought it ahead of time...

Now it's $169, no discounts. And, it's all tied to the 'My Disney Experience' site for WDW guests.

When I went last, the photographers were fine using my camera for pictures. It really is the better option.

I heard Epcot was packed last Saturday for F&W Festival.

This year we ended up taking mostly our own pictures. Have done the PP the last two years, though, and really liked it.

We left just before F&W, on purpose. Although, the crowds seemed to show up early in anticipation of it...they weren't horrific by any stretch, but add it to the new FP+, and the stand by lines were longer than they should have been.

Thinking back to entering the MK...in the past, I can recall at least four PP photographers on MSUSA to capture pics with the castle backdrop. Only two I can think of this year. Might have just been the days we were there, but did seem odd.

I've noticed that for quite some time. If any are in the park at all it is a handful around the icon and that's it.

All the other places in the park to take pictures, all the old Kodak photospots, nothing. Who is going to buy a CD full of pictures of just the castle, SSE, or the BAH?

I did purchase the Photopass card for ride photos. It was $40 for digital prints of all of your on ride photos. It's easily worth it for a vacation

packed is an understatement, world showcase was gridlock by evening, never again. For now on morning/afternoon only, or a weekday.

It was packed Friday, too.

Spirit, any thoughts about the rumored Japan dark ride coming to EPCOT?

That's not a bad deal. Taking pictures of the screen isn't always that great.

Supertalented artist Claire Keane left Walt Disney Animation last week.

Dear John,
Talent retention is really important.
Sincerely,
The Dreamfinder
She's really quite talented. (I'm a major Tangled fan) They should let her do a mural for a new, exciting EPCOT pavilion while letting her concept art inform the animators of a new movie. Wait...wrong decade.

There be art here: http://artofdisney.canalblog.com/archives/2010/12/01/19744388.html

Spirited Lunchtime Musings:

Speaking of weak, anyone watching old pal Tom Amity's meltdown in the Twitverse? Apparently, he hates Andy Castro and @lentesta ... someone needs to 'splain to him a very basic of social media and that is if you place something out for the world to see then it is not private in the least.
Wish I had started keeping a score card every time something got torn out that some folks care deply about.

Horizons, Spectromagic, Adventurers Club, PI, Seven Seas Lagoon development, Court of Angels, Character Integrity...

Personally I could care less about the flight of stairs, and Ill still be able to go to Club 33 whenever I want - at the end of the day, its still going to be there there. Not like the day I rode in the front of the monorail to see the last few swings at the Horizons building, hey, theres two things you cant do anymore! I do understand though why people get emotional about certain things, but whenever one of "these things happen" sides seem to get drawn up like its 1861. No wonder this community cant get together to effect positive change...

SHIELD is dang fun. People expecting an emmy winning show need to get their expectations aligned with reality. It is a fun show. Sounds like it might lead right into Avengers 2.
I liked SHIELD. I think many people were expecting to see super heroes such as Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, etc. They should have a read the description of the show before watching and perhaps they would have appreciated it more. Sleepy Holow, Black List, and SHIELD are gonna be great for the fall season. And of course...The Walking Dead!!!

Sleepy Hollow has been the first new show this season to be renewed for a season 2 - they are just sticking with the 13 episode a season plan that they originally had in place - no back 9 for this season.
Thanks for the info. Good for them. My wife and I were curious how the could make an entire series out of the sleepy hollow tales. They did an awesome job I think. Only thing I dont like about it is waiting a week between episodes! lol
