I do.

I'm nervous, for their sake, to see if they can sustain it. You can't build Potter phase 3-12 for the next ten years. If Potter is a sustainable increase, I'm happy for them. But I'm skeptical that it might just be a temporary bump.

This will be it for Potter, don't worry. Universal is adding many other thing's along with Potter. And will continue to.

That's a fair criticism. I might agree on direction, but I don't think it's as severe as you imply. I also think good times are a'comin'.

MK needed sit-down dining. They're still struggling to meet demand. I agree that all WDW dining is overpriced but people are paying it and they're filling the place to do so. I hate meet and greets as well but wait times don't lie. *Shrug*

Yet, how many restaurants in MK are ether closed or only open seasonally?

I think I'm just more optimistic than you.

I'd wager 15% and up. Which, I agree with Tim, to a large extent will be predatory on WDW's other three parks.

I do expect DAK's guests to stay longer, and spend more. If DAK can be turned into a full-day park, especially by no longer closing at one o' clock in the afternoon, Avatar will toss up many WDW stats.
It'll be interesting to see what it does to the park hopper strategy, especially as it relates to guests going to Uni. Currently, a vacation with six "park days" could breakdown like this:

MK
MK
Epcot
DHS
DAK/Epcot
Universal

I'd say Epcot is more than a one day park but less than a two day park. With DAK only open half a day, guests can get their "extra" Epcot evening by park hopping. If DAK becomes a full day park, that schedule is now:

MK
MK
Epcot
Epcot
DAK
DHS

But the key is... When? By 2017-2018 Universal would have already cemented itself with a new value hotel, new potter, new JP, new Kidszone,New nightshow (in IOA), New FF show etc...(Just go look at the Universal Rumors Thread) While Disney would have had no major expansions in the 3 other parks. I expect it to be...

Or as I am doing in 2013:

UNI
SEA

RUT ROH two Disney parks pushed out of my trip... I guess anyone with a keyboard and connection to the internet can speculate...

I'm so glad I don't free base, shoot up, inhale, or snort pixie dust... it rots the brain to the point a duster sounds like a complete idiot...

I disagree that the Potter franchise is another Twilight. Potter will be here to stay. People really, really love that stuff and pass it on. Potter is Star Wars, or Narnia. Not Twilight or Hunger Games.

I agree that I doubt the effect of Potter 2. You can only build the 'Theres' a Real Potterland!' once. We, fanatics, may understand phase 2's, but to the public at large UNI already is, and by and large will simply remain, the Potter Park. You can only uplift the park 30% once. Likewise, would DCA make another Cars Land-like jump in attendance if it builded Monsters Land next? I think not.

Potter 2 will entice return visits from people who visited Potter 1. In that regard, phase 2 is a sign of weakness as much as of strength: Potter 1 alone isn't strong enough to sustain repeat visitors.

If the fact pattern plays out the way you suggest, then you're right. But Disney having no major expansions in the other three parks is a leap.

The key word here is could.

Posts like these never make sense to me. Everyone is different and has different tastes. I was listening to a couple behind me in line for The Simpsons Ride talk about how they were spending 5 days on Universal property. And we don't know how Avatar will effect people's schedules. I doubt it will even make DAK a "full day park". And we don't know how Transformers/WWoHP: Diagon Alley will effect Universal's crowd levels either. And not to start anything, but I think we can all agree that the opening of Cabana Bay Beach Resort and WWoHP: Diagon Alley will definitely have a positive impact on Universal's attendance.

Carsland is a constant yellow, see no sign of it opening till 2018-2019. Same with Avatar. Along with nothing for Epcot, I'd say my statement was correct.

Potter is beloved, I don't disagree, but it's just not quality literature. It will never be taught in schools or stand beside The Lord of the Flies or 1984 in the western canon.

Need to stay away from WDWMagic more and more... it has become a cesspool of morons, idiots, and know it alls who get a woody for making themselves seem so much smarter than anyone else...
Well when you talk like that, you make it so easy.

Love you guys.

I don't care what you do. Or what disney fan 13 does. Or what dxer07002 does. Or what the family in line behind you at the Simpsons does. Or what I do for that matter.

Here's the kicker. Neither does Disney. Or Universal. We could sit here trading blows and come up with a billion stories about what your cousin thinks about Be Our Guest or what it felt like when my mom bought me the second Harry Potter book. The point is, Disney and Universal care about broad, sweeping trends in AGGREGATE guest behavior. The individual guest is irrelevant. Disney is betting that DAK expansion and MyMagic+ will tilt those trends in their favor. I'm guessing it will too. You disagree. That's the end of it.

Does anyone else ever think, "Wow, we are seriously arguing about logistics of theme parks in Central Florida while actual issues such as war and extreme violence are taking place all over the world"? Not saying that caring about Universal and Disney parks is bad, but when you put it in a different perspective, it loses it's meaning. I'm just glad I live close enough to Universal and Disney and am able to enjoy the world class parks that they provide.

This place is my escape from all that. I am sure I am not the only one.
