No it's not. The company in question is titled work was formerly titled the New York Times regional newspaper group. That is an entirely separate company from the New York Times. It is a 100% separate entities.

A simple Google search of her name and the New York Times finds no authored articles Buy her but only quotes attributed to her in her current role as a social media manager for Disney.

She never worked there, she lied it. It's a black-and-white issue.

In journalism, any misrepresentation is lying. Any misrepresentation of the actual truth.

I'm assuming her linkedin profile is what's in question. She worked at the NYT group from 02-13. That would put the Ledger as part of the NYTCo before the sale to Halifax. So she worked for the company.

Anyway, I've given this way more time than it deserves. It really doesn't matter to me. People lie. Journalists lie. Every day.

Infinity has so much "risk" as in if it doesn't touch Skylanders collective worth within a year bye bye Avalanche ... from what I'm hearing though LA were going to be switched from publisher to studio (to get out of perpetual contract here in Europe to publish Star Wars game products) for them to produce a version of Star Wars Infinity ... the head of LA hated that and the entire division as a result has been sunk ...

Again Disney only likes the short term hates long term outside of Parks and even there not so much ... like for instance Disney Infinity has been in development that starts around the same time of development for Toy Story 3 game... was very different ... there is a reason they added collectible figures and that was down solely to Skylanders ... again read short term investment ... *sigh*
I can't blame Disney for trying to get in the Skylanders arena. That concept has made kids (my son included) go CRAZY for characters that they had never even heard of before. That idea plus characters that the kids already love? Could be gold. That being said, I'm not really excited about Disney Infinity for some reason and I play Skylanders as much as my son does.

Probably because as much as it is a worthwhile the original concept ... the fact that they won't allow franchise characters from (X) play in the playset from franchise (Y) is a huge problem - to grab people over the age of 12. But the various branches of Disney not wanting their "Brands" being spoilt ... so stupid ... so Disney ...

Perhaps the real problem then are the easily entertained guests. Why build anything new when the same old attractions are enjoyed by guests? It seems to me that since WDW continues to exceed capacity guest limits, they should work on downgrading the attractions to reduce crowd levels and thereby make the overall guest experience more enjoyable for all.

It's not a problem at all that the older attractions are still enjoyed by guests. Disney have space to add in all of their parks, there is no real need for them to replace attractions that continue to be enjoyed by guests. The problem at WDW, as exemplified perfectly in the Fantasyland Expansion, is that they largely waste the space they create on style over substance. It looks nice but is there a lot to do there in terms of attractions? You said replace the Tiki Room, why not build on the expansion pad we all know is already available in Adventureland instead?

By all means make the overall guest experience more enjoyable but how will you achieve that by taking away attractions that people enjoy and not adequately replacing them? What would you have preferred them to do with the Snow White's Scary Adventures building, install a M&G or re-theme it to another classic Disney fairytale like Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty or maybe capitalise on the success and popularity of a new classic like Tangled? Instead of a Tangled dark ride we've ended up with a Tangled bathroom. Everyone likes a nice bathroom but does an extravagantly-themed one improve the overall guest experience more than a quality dark ride would?

I had actually forgotten about that until I just read your post... that is a HUGE problem, IMO. Disney Infinity should be like the Avengers of Disney characters.

Just an FYI, but Laura Spencer, who was largely responsible for Disney's Moms Panel as well as credentialing local social media whores left the company in the last week (http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/author/lspencer/) in a rather sudden move after certain Spirits brought concerns to people far above her pay grade regarding how WDW Co is handling social media and how it could harm the BRAND.

I am trying to find out what I can, but it was very sudden -- and if you read her Twitter you'll see folks from the online world (including my old pal Doobie from LP.com) trying to reach her for credentials for the upcoming April media event only to find her company email has been shut down.

As an aside, Disney is continuing to crack down on these people and actually vetting some of them and pulling invites (wonder what happened there, did someone from Wall Street contact Burbank? LOL!!!) ... I've also started to hear that even folks like Mongello aren't going to have the free reign they once did. My question to my friends at Disney reading this is: where do I send my invoice?

I got no strings, but man sometimes it is fun to tug on the strings of others ... Too. Damn. Easy!

Well, this LITERALLY just into the Spirit Cave, but it seems that there well may be a bloodletting at Celebration Place next with Laura Spencer (again, not the lovely Genie Francis of General Hospital and Mrs. Will Riker fame) just the first to go because ... well, some Spirits in Burbank are REALLY not happy that some Spirits on Wall Street are asking if Disney is basically out of its collective mind with its current strategy of getting into bed with anyone who will be a BRAND advocate regardless of what baggage they bring along.

Now, this was all before we found out that Blondie has created a nice little life lie for herself that the entire world can see online because, again, the people who are supposed to know and understand online media best at TWDC clearly do not. You do not put out anything to the world that can be used to show you are less than honest, less than ethical and not expect it to come and bite you on the behind. I have no idea if this will be used as excuse to push her out the door next ...

But I have been told, however, that Burbank has been told that Laura Spencer will not suffice as a sacraficial lamb. WDW Co's Director of Social Media Leanne Jakubowski is on the firing line right now and that the entire CPSMC is under intense outside scrutiny, including the three individuals mentioned most here. And, again, that was before Blondie's 'little' embellishment came to light. This is gonna be an interesting spring, after all.

Meh. But will we get more E-Tickets because of this? That is the important question.

Could this be the end of the moms panel? Don't they have their big shindig coming up?

Also, did anyone see the Variety article on the impending layoffs? Anyone up for grabbing a cooler and setting up shop in the CP parking lot to live tweet?
