They did make VERY big changes to the music, ESPECIALLY the finale. The older version was more instrumental, the new is more "pop" ish....I like the older.:lookaroun:lol:

What part of Ellen is dated?

Are you kidding? Everything! The ride deals with Solar energy which we have had since the late 60's and early 70's, wind power, ect.... All of the sources of renewable energy are extremely outdated. The only part of the ride that should be kept is the historical part aka dinos.

The ride should focus on stuff we don't have yet today like cars that run off off decaying fuel cells, digging deeper into nuclear power, I read an article the other day about satillites that could be put in orbit one day to take advatage of always facing the sun, it would convert the energy and send it back down to earth.

The theater scenes should be in 3D. UOE is by far the most outdated Disney attraction that there is.

It talks largely about fossil fuels which are still in use. I think the video scenes are still relevant today. That's not to say that more information can't be added to them, but I do feel it's still relevant and important information.

That being said, the show is too long, the Dinosaur scenes don't make much sense, and I wouldn't be heartbroken if the pavilion is leveled and replaced with an entirely new experience.

The problem is that it is FW not Relevant today world. In 1982 some of this stuff was still rather new. The dinos can stay to show the Fossil Fuel part but all the rest should be about the future of energy not what is relevant today.

And that's all stuff we still don't use nearly to it's full potential.

There's nothing wrong with UoE's film. It's impossible to keep up with energy technologies, and for what's there, it's very good. There's a lot more pressing needs in Future World than UoE.

I hate the new ending. The video doesn't match the emotions felt in the musical crescendo, the song isn't remixed well, the music drowns out the dialog between Mark Twain and Ben Franklin...

...But the digital projection is pretty.

OH, its full potential. ;)

I beg to differ about the state of UoE, especially since kids don't know who Bill Nye is and Ellen isn't funny; but I'll concede that Imagination needs a refurb first.

We are here to change the world...

I don't hate it, by any means, but yes, it does lack the original emotion.

I disliked it until I couldn't hear a word Twain and Franklin were saying.

Then I hated it.

:ROFLOL:

But I still like the show. Does that make sense?

Ah, and count me among those who love Impressions de France.

Audio issues have been odd with AA for my past few visits. I remember 2007 having the narration VERY loud, and the music soft. 2008 saw low narration and some musical tracks not playing at all. Rosie the Riveter, Yosemite, and others were very low, and didn't play at all. We will see what 2009 brings in the next week.:D

Maybe, and hopefully the issue you saw was a one time deal, and is fixed?

And yeah, AA is my favorite even with the new audio.

Impressions is great, don't get me wrong, but it IS dated. lots of flickers in 2008.

I stand by saying that Ellen's Energy Adventure is not outdated (in it's message), but that doesn't mean I wouldn't appreciate an overhaul.

There is enough room for an attraction and post show exhibits that discuss the many different ways of conserving energy that have come to fruition/popularity over recent years.

As I said, the Fossil Fuel education is the relevant part, but I do agree that Fossil Fuels are not the only answer to energy issues.

The risk I see now though is that the pavilion would like get a new spokesperson, and the obvious candidate is Al Gore. I have no problem with Al Gore, and I know he has made strides to rid himself of the "boring" image he had as our Vice President, and Presidential candidate, but regardless it would be a stark contrast from Ellen and Bill Nye.

I haven't heard any rumors surrounding this pavilion, other than a plan several years ago about DuPont sponsoring a major attraction that would take up the footprint of both Wonders of Life and Ellen's Energy Adventure. Is there anything on the horizon for this area?

I feel the new ending is perfect in every repectable way. I usually can hear Twain & Franklin quite clearly, the pathos in the digital projection is well conveyed and the remixed song/arrangement is timed to a tee.

Except the kids waving the fireworks. That is a total letdown, 100% cheesiness. :brick:

I do agree in maybe an updated screen, but dated? Not in my book. :xmas:

I am not sure about Al Gore because some people would dismiss it as "Liberal Propaganda".(though I personally do not understand why the future of our planet is a political issue.) I do think a new UOE should tackle some of the territory that Al Gore talks about' but again try to keep politics out of it as much as possible. Oh' and of course they have to restore Energy' You make the world go round' and the Universe of Energry theme.
