Spaceship Earth Decent Upgrades?

Would they still be able to do this during nights only, or would they just close it during the slower season for a day unannounced?

Most of the modifications have already been made. The final additions/changes should only take a night or two additional work (when they are ready to added), so yes, night work.

Remember, they've changed Dench's audio multiple times since the re-opening, doing so purely after hours.

yes it was rather pleasant to hear Dench's opening narration has been toned down from her booming Mrs. Doubtfire-esque "HELLO!!!!!! " to a somewhat softer but positive "Like a grand and miraculous spaceship...."

the audio was jacked up so high back in December, you could hear her talking about high fiving the pheonecians while you were still getting your picture taken.

And yes, I'd like to solve the issue of the infamous window girl with a good hammer to see what the heck is behind that painted window.

What's behind these curtains?

Is this where the *cough* projectors *cough* are going above the vehicles to face the triangles?  :zipit:

As I have said several times before: It ain't done yet.

Great to hear this ....and from a trusted source.

I had my first ride on the updated SEE last week, and i enjoyed it quite a bit up until we reached the 'climax' ( planetariem at the peak). The descent was..well, okay ....

The first ride i was with someone, so the video screen sequence that superimposed our heads onto animated bodies was novel the first go-around as it was our first experience seeing it. So the first trip it was okay. Repeated veiwings however it became lame and then downright annoying ( in my opion..).

I think they did a fantastic job updating some scenes, and the AA's move SO FAST now ( that surprised me..was not expecting that!). I was very pleased with the NEW scenes added ( the computer room and the garage..). Both were awesome additions and fit in with the rest of SSE's AA scenes much better then what had been there previously ( the internet chat scene). I gave it all high marks....even the planetariem looks better now. It would have been a total triumph..but the video screen finale just left me cold after multiple trips.

So for your average Guest, i think the ending is fine and it is held as a fun novelty. For regular Guests and geeks like me who like to ride 10+ times during a visit....it leaves one yearning for more.

I actually enjoyed the refurbed SSE more then i thought i would....so that was a nice surprise. I am very much looking forward to any additions that are added, and truly hope with all my heart they are more in line with the awesome new scenes added, and less to do with the reliance of carrying the show on video screens.

:)

I think that picture was taken during an evac, because from the position of that guy's head it looks like he's standing outside of the vehicle.

Sorry but that is incorrect. The spaceship driver AA was still up in her place without cosmetics, half torn apart as of a year ago. Ride and Show Engineering would go down there sometimes (you access that space by climbing down a ladder from the area right next to the star projector) and take parts from the AA. There was also an old pack of cigarettes and a MAPO tag still down there.

The Keiko girl as was/is the boy is just a static mannequin.

I believe it.

True...So I know they will be ADDING in the new audio/screens but will there be any changes to the audio levels in the already finished scenes? It's VERY hard to hear the BGM ANYWHERE in the attraction save the Matrix and 180-top

very much agree, the sound quality is very poor and very low, my father walked out last time asking me why they messed it up when it use to be so wonderful. All I could do was shrug and roll my eyes.
