Adding yet another layer of sadness for SSE and doubt for TDO.:(

Frankly, I'm surprised with Siemens, too. I thought that they were actually pushing for this...

Money talks. Perhaps Siemens was tired of dumping cash into SSE and not seeing progress. On the flipside, why spend all of the money on the technology just to let it sit there and collect dust.

Unfortunately, we need to get used to this kind of disappointment. I expect SM to be much worse because the only change you'll notice when it opens in November is the smell of fresh paint and a smooth track. At least SSE was mostly done *thankfully*

Biggest question I have. At least turn it on/update it bit by bit. Or is that bad show? Or does it keep things fresh? It is EPCOT after all...

Maybe these are the questions TDO is asking themselves. The thing is, they need answers.

As for SM...At least smooth track is a pretty big thing. I'm slightly confident we will get some new visuals as Martin mentioned projections are installed already...

Doesn't mean they will turn them on when the ride opens (see SSE for details).

-Just playin devil's advocate is all. I hope you (and Martin) are right about the projections.

Oh good Lord.:brick::ROFLOL:

I don't blame you for thinking like that. I need to stop being so optimistic.

I pray you are wrong.:lookaroun:lol:

Now then...Back to the The Three Musketeers. Good book.

You said that people are seeing money as better spent for the moment in other pavilions (that you are keeping nameless). So whats happening here? Is this Siemens we're talking about or Disney? And even if it was Disney, why would that effect whats going on in SSE? Is Siemens just losing a bit of will to finish what they started, or are the plans for FW/unknown pavilions extensive enough that they need "all hand on deck" so to speak?

He mentioned in one of the threads that Disney had been financing this for a while and now saw the need for the money to go elsewhere. If Siemen's wants it done they'll have to cough up the money to do it.

Hm, okay. And here I thought Siemens would see this through til the end... Oh well. :(

Those new visuals were added in 07 or 08. You probably already saw them on your last visit.
And what were they?

I have not been on SM in an age.

You have to wonder if there will be construction walls and curtains in the exit tunnel though.:dazzle:
:brick: Blue Triangles...

But don't they consistently cough up money? I thought that was the point of a Sponsorship.

So much for reading!

They may still. After all, what incentive do they have to pay when Disney was willing to finance it? Now that Disney has finally moved resources elsewhere, Siemens has to step up and commit to finishing it.

I guess at this point its only enough for maintenance? I thought that sponsorship, once the attraction was finished (yea, I know, theres a debate on whether its "finished") covered the cost of operating the attraction? (Which reminds me: Yo, park maintenance? Yea, on the left entrance sign for SSE? The LED section on the top part of the sign is out. Hopefully you guys can get that fixed ASAP. Thanks!).

Actually that brings up another point... was it Disney that pushed for this new descent or was it Siemens? If Disney was providing the capital, then it sounds like Siemens really didn't care about the dscent. I guess in their minds, the touchscreens were all the descent needed and that was the end of it...

So Disney can actually move funds around like that? That's odd...

Spent the last five days at the resort. Talked to many interesting people.
The attention at Epcot is going into FW.
From what I have learned Mr. Cockrell is looking to make things happen...or so it seems. It's all a matter of priority. At this point, what little remains to do at SSE is not high on the priority list.

*Starts humming 'One Little Spark'*

I think this was planned all along, but Park Ops wanted it open before it was done.

And not liking what you posted about the broken sign.:( Hope they fix it soon.

Well, I hope so, but if it was planned all along, then why is Disney the one taking its money away? If it was planned from the start, wouldn't Siemens be the one financing the descent, and therefore, shouldn't have to worry about getting money pulled? its the money trail; its kinda confusing!

And I'm sure the sign has been fixed by now. That was more of a little joke since I mentioned maintenance of attractions. I'd like to think Disney could fix the lights on the parks's signature attraction within a day or two. (But that being said, I did notice some of those LED uplights on the palm trees were out as well. :lookaroun)

I'm guessing they moved it, as Lee said. FW is getting something, while SSE is loosing something it needs but already has. Seems like they wasted money in doing this.

Figgy better be pretty freaking amazing.:lookaroun
