as far as i know they are cleaning up the lift area. new motors, pretty much all wireing will be replaced most of it is dry rotted. maybe kick a few rates out. i wouldnt be surprised if they didnt find a family of deer in there or even some homeless peeps. ha. joke of course! i work part time at space or well did now im out in tl now. but i can not tell sources. threat of death or bodly harm! nicest thing if it gets done there will be a wall spliting stand by and fast pass. and another thing that guest will notice is they will be closeing the roof over load to reduce the light on track. also 'rummor' from peeps is there will be three load areas instead of two per side.

Cool! I will just have to trust you for now! I love Rumors!:animwink: It's cool to hear rumors and see what's going to happen at the end!

off topic but does anyone have the dates the following attractions went down for refurb:

SSE
Haunted Mansion
Disneyland Space Mountain

I know DL's was down for about 2 years but at least 6 months of that time it was literally sitting there without any work being done on it and I remember them rushing at the end to get it done in time so some of the stuff that was supposed to be included wasn't working (like the asteroid).

If this is true(I'm skeptical), it's terrible news. Another fail from TDO.

WOW if that 3 life rumor is true, adding it to what the origonal poster said about so much 'scrap metal' being taken out, they HAVE to be doing a track referb. I cant see them taking 2 old crappy tracks and turning them into 3 tracks 2/3's the size of the origonal. Nor would it be smart to have the begining of the ride nice and smooth, and then when you start moving it's chop city. If theres a track referb idk if i can wait til december to ride it! i might just have to wait till the OFFICIAL date and be one of the 100,000 clawing at the gate :)

He didn't mean 3 lifts. As of now, SM can load from 2 positions on each side, he was just talking about adding another load position.

guys sorry we all wished it. but there is no new track. only thing being done on the track is replacing bad sections. and changing were the supports are conected to the track. the new cars (with out audio) guide wheels sit on the track deferently. and there is one every foot x 4000ft feet plus storage. so that will be alot of metal comeing out but not much track.. what you are seeing if it is blue ish would be the steel from the line area.. they started pulling that out before we were even closed. the que will be totally different. also the tower will be different. most changes riders will not even know about put it like that.. there will be less down time. cast members will not have to run track for cascades everything will be brought up by the push of two buttons.:sohappy: ok so take it or leave it. thats all im giving you. and go ahead correct my spelling. ps if the stuff in the dumbsters are silver then its the moving disk from tta that has been pulled up last week to be replaced.

Sounds right on from what I know, exactly what I have heard from sources. As far as three loads, that is not what I have heard. Where people will load and the loading configuration as far as CMs are concerned will change slightly. This is to theoretically increase ride capacity.

ohhh but on all of the rides that can load 3 positions, they never do it anyways (atleast when i go). they always just use 2, 2 boats in 2 boats out.

back to the referb, doesnt it sound like a track referb? shouldnt that have been the main goal from the start? idk how many times ive heard "i wont ride space mountain b/c its too bumpy (and/or) jerky" a smooth track will eliviate that problem. As long as we dont have DL SM's track im fine. its like 4 rectangles left left left left all the way down, its more tranquil then futuristic.

I second that! DL has the worse track layout, but the best ride experience! WDW just has the best Track Layout and Queue. Both are special and have a place in my heart!

Not that I disagree with you that it should be done up to standards, but even Disneyland under Walt himself wasn't spotless. I believe there was a mound of dirt just sitting there that people thought was an attraction. (Or so goes most accounts I have read)

Wow, this refurb is only 3 weeks olds and you are already calling it a failure.

Oh and to your spotless before opening day comment:

OK, maybe spotless was the wrong word. How about working? I'm just calling it the way I have seen it these past few years. The last 3 or 4 refurbs I knew details about have gone wrong on repoening day. Always something that should have been taken care of, but was often neglected.

they were totally out of control at the end of refurb.I remember when it was the grand re-opening and the CM's were still sweeping dust in the queue!Man I miss that astroid!

This whole rehab is getting worse and worse...Anywho..I don't expect 3 load areas at all unless they begin using both load 1 and 2 continuously.

Just squint at this photo, and imagine it on a bigger scale and without quite so much support removal.

This jives with what WDWInsider listed here in March. And I do remember that all of Disney's official releases said "track replacement" not "complete track replacement."

Lee, Martin - I can't remember, but were you told complete track replacement or just sections?

interesting stuff. I guess time will tell.

I hope the plexiglass on the TTA gets replaced.

I know that you joked about your spelling being poor, why not download the google spell check. Checks as you type. Sounds silly, but your intel might be taken more seriously if all spelled correctly. just a thought.

What a shame.

Not about the rehab, I'm withholding judgement until I see it.

It's sad that this has already been deemed a failure 3 weeks in. Which means we have to have threads about how bad it is for years now after it opens, regardless of how good it is.
