Just rode for the first time since soft openings. Thoughts:
- Games in the queue: Meh. I'm sure the average guest will like it.
- The station looks cool, sure, but it somehow killed the lively atmosphere the station had before. Its quiet and dull. They could easily fix this by, say, making the lights brighten and dim, and adding some audio such as more ambient noise and "space comm chatter", or better yet, airport style PA announcements themed to "Starport 75", but I doubt they will.
- However, killing the station atmosphere was almost worth it for a more thrilling ride. I am glad to see that all of the really bright projections onto the ceiling that were present during soft openings have been significantly dimmed or turned off. They looked cheesy and gave you a point of light reference. Now, there are literally almost no points of light reference and the whole ride is significantly darker and more thrilling.
- On-Ride photo still seems to have problems with timing... some people were still getting cut out of the pic.
- Re-entry ramp music is still "generic techno"... why didn't they keep the epic music from before, which is Disneyland's Space Mountain on-ride music??
- Green screen: meh. In the end, it ends up looking the same, just on HDTVs now. They should include an "advertisement" about "picturing yourself in those travel destinations."
- TTA segment: still no star tunnel music. Instead, complete silence., followed by nothing to look at. WHY???
