Just out of curiousity, does anyone know how many attractions or we could say rides only wdw has vs. Dl? You would think since WDW has twice as many parks they would have twice as many rides.
Disneyland's attraction lineup is deeper from a quantity standpoint. It doesn't have equivalents to attractions like Kilimanjaro Safaris or Spaceship Earth, but many E-tickets have equivalents in California and Florida.

You nailed it. And this is why DHS desperately needs more rides. Hopefully the Star Wars section will take care of that...

I hope the rumored makeover of MGM will include ADDING 17 rides to make it comparable with DCA. :)

17 rides short of DCA - and that park is light on attractions compared with Disneyland. Wow.

That and the headache he developed.
I imagine the animatronic is still behind the shutters now. Still have no belief it's too complicated to function properly. My gosh, just fix it already.

Can I ask another question, what is a "gravity"? on Saturday you used the term in reference to possibly being build inside stage 1. Well, more accurately, "If they build a gravity..."

A 'gravity building.' He's referring to a large building that would house the main track of the coaster, much like RnRC is set up.

To be fair, DCA's ride count is inflated by a lot of flat rides. That's not to say that the difference in ride count between DCA and any non-MK park at WDW isn't stark, but in terms of high quality rides, the gap between DCA and other parks is smaller.

I mention this because a lot of people on here gripe about the mere idea of adding flat rides for a TSPL area at DHS. It's not a bad idea to have some such rides to spread out the crowds and give more options of stuff to do.

Even if you strip out the"kiddie" or "flat" rides, DCA still has more thrill.

RSR
TSMM
CAlifornia Screamin
ToT
Sourin
Grizzly River
Mickey's Fun Wheel
...list could go on...

The point is, even with flat or "kiddie" rides, there is more to do there, and those lines distribute and meter the guests so you avoid massive hour + waits. Waiting 2 or more hours to ride TSMM (which isn't unheard of at HS) is insane. And, part of it is because, for kids too short for the only other 3 "thrill" rides in the park (RRC, ToT, ST), it's the only ride there...and, even if you aren't too short, the crowds flock to those four rides.

The issue with park crowd dynamics has been screwed ever since they pared down the backlot tour from a half day experience (it used to take 3-4 hours, if you can believe that).

I love Cinemagique! Although, it might be cheaper for me to go to France now. Well, it was anyway but even more so. France need Splash.

I seem to Remember it coming out pretty close.

On a side note Disneyland huge advantage is density
The issue with those counts has always been that things most people would only loosely consider an "attraction" are often included to pad the numbers.

Now Imcurious, so unless someone beats me to it, I'll run through the six parks (eight if you include the water parks, and may as well do DTD comparisons as well...) tonight and categorize the attractions.

High Thrill
Low Thrill
Dark ride / Omnimover / Boat
Kiddie/flat ride/spinner
Show
Parade
Playground / Walkthrough
Meet and Greet
Streetmosphere
QS Restaurant
TS Restaurant
Character Dines
Other

Those should work...will take a bit, but should be a fun exercise.

It is important to note that rides fall into three major category between coasts you have unique rides only at one location say (EE) than you have rides that are Co branded and often similar but mechanically are diffrent "enough " space mountain falls into this category...same basis two diffrent and unique ride systems/styles. And than you have pure clones...think splash mountain or TOT. Keep in mind I know even these rides have diffrences but they use essentially the same ride system.

Edit I am simplifyING it for discussion. Sake. I know some people will argue to the end of the world over splash or thunder ect.
