Okay.... From my battered memory when I had just a few minutes to peruse the plans electronically at a meeting at Wilderness Lodge a few years ago....
Entrance was on the left, exit from gift shop the right. Entrance had more than one lane, I assume the usual standby, Fastpass and singles.
The front of stage one proper was an elaborate switchback queue, winding through various themed rooms and halls from the film. The iconic circular reception hall was one. This filled probably half of the stage front to back and two thirds left to right. The right hand third (towards TSMM) was the exit gift shop and photo pickup.
Load was an island platform with duel load / unload tracks. Ride system was indeed suspended. 2 seats across. Coaster harnesses but more for safety given the ride style as opposed to a Dragons Challenge or Montu style multiple G harness.
I want to say there was a small first lift just after load, to go up and above the queue area. There were several dark ride show scenes along this area, all in an upper floor area. There were definitly two lifts, the smaller being in the stage building.
The track then crossed into the new Gravity building, built on the rear of stage one. The main second lift was across the interior of the front of the gravity building. I can't remember if it was immiediatly after entering the gravity building or if the ride looped around the building at this lower level before coming back along the right hand wall to ascend the lift.
The vehicles then ascended the main lift and proceeded through the gravity building. The track seemed lengthy and quite intricate, with a lot of dark ride style show scenes and eye candy. It struck me more of a full on dark ride using a coaster style ride system, as opposed to a roller coaster with a few show scenes interspersed with darkness.
The ride ended up (naturally) coming out of the TSMM side of the gravity building and into stage one for a right hand turn back to unload.

I got the impression it was more Thundermountain style thrills and profiles as opposed to Everest.

"Who Wants to be an Imagineer - Play It!"?So, how about we just greenlight this right now? Let's take a vote.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing. It makes you realize that those who "gripe" about the "shopping mall" feel of WDW...really may have something to their concern...when you look at the raw numbers. One thing I noticed, how many shops are packed in each park at WDW compared to DLR. They pack rides, we pack shops. Wonderful...........
We do have more shows though, some of which I wouldn't give up for anything (CoP, HoP, AA, etc).Yeah, I noticed the same thing. It makes you realize that those who "gripe" about the "shopping mall" feel of WDW...really may have something to their concern...when you look at the raw numbers.
Also, WDW pads their numbers, where Disneyland leaves them off.
For example, they break down "Disney Animals, Lions" as "Entertainment" (along with a bunch of others they break down like that)...for AK, to pad the numbers.
But, at Disneyland, for example, I know for a fact they have roving characters in both parks (Duffy in Paradise Pier, various characters in Disneyland, Streetmosphere on both Main Street and Buena Vista), and while WDW lists each and every one, DLR barely notes them on their website.
That's why I did this exercise, because things are called "attractions" that really shouldn't be.
For example, both resorts classify the MK/DL Railroad BY STOP...each STOP is it's own "attraction"...
Yeah...whatever...it's ONE ride.
Though, I listed what they listed...so you'll see that reflected in my counts...hence why I made the detailed list, so you could see my reasoning behind the numbers (or lack thereof where I bowed to Disney calling the same thing by many different names).

Not to mention pretty much all of the shows at DAK, especially FotLK.We do have more shows though, some of which I wouldn't give up for anything (CoP, HoP, AA, etc).
