Soarin' Expansion and new Soarin' Around the World film

This is far from being a rumor. All the cast members are being cross-trained to other locations as we speak, while new Soarin' cast members are being trained at the location to staff the third theater when the ride reopens later next Spring.

So, Soarin' will close in January (that is the plan), but I am not sure about the length of the refurbishment. More than three months, for sure.

No!! We're heading down Jan 27-Feb 6 and my dear mother will be devastated if her favourite ride is closed. I'll have to take her drinking around the world to help ease the heartbreak.

I feel your pain, we are going down for the Princess Half Marathon in Feb. I had hoped we were safe from a refurb since the Frozen ride wouldn't be open yet, since there aren't a ton of rides to begin with, we usually do 2 days at Epcot, but I'm kind of rethinking that now...

I hope this is the plan, with a 6 month refurb/transition. Hopefully that would mean a overhaul of everything with different theming.

I also remember hearing that the timeframe for Soarin' to be down was connected to the opening of Frozen. But that timeframe was supposed to be early 2016, so is there anything to indicate that Frozen is delayed?

Hopefully that means they're getting rid of the silly games on the wall, and re-doing the video in the launch bay. Patrick Warburton was an interesting intro for a while, but he's just annoying now.

I'd be okay with him doing a new spiel. It's the current one that has lived a long enough life. Perhaps even morphing the existing one into a next generation Soarin' experience.

My first thought on getting rid of Warbuton was, "NO", but then after thinking about it and how the new version is supposed to have a World flare to it, I think you're right. They should probably go for someone with a more international flare, perhaps someone with an Asian or British accent. I'd almost bet they have more than one person do the safety briefing in the new version.

As for the games, I'm not a big fan of them, but I'm not opposed either. That line moves slow and something is desperately needed to help pass the time.

My first thought was to Jeremy Irons to intro Soarin but that might be a bit of a gruff voice. I miss his narration on Spaceship Earth.
