I just noticed on Orlando Parks News website that the area in back of the Soarin' pavilion is being officially marked as a construction area. There were also a few tidbits about improvements to the Land Pavilion as well as this news.

I saw that article. They also say that they have started to rip up the concrete behind Soarin, so it looks like thing are moving along.

I just discovered TerraServer, and the aerial images there dated Nov 3 confirm that the buildings have been removed. Without a membership there are watermarks and such so it isn't terribly clear, but comparing earlier pictures it is clear from the shadows that the buildings have been removed:

@photoflight are these your handiwork? They are dated very close to the pics you posted of AK.

Nice find!

Another permit was filed today for "Project 87" with the same contractors and completion date as the original one, but this one has an address of "2006 Avenue of the Stars" and a description "Attraction Rehab". I don't have a record of that address so I am not exactly sure what this is referring to.

I think it is safe to assume that the location Google finds at 2006 Avenue of the Stars is incorrect. ;)

EDIT: 1320 Ave of the Stars actually points to an ATM behind M:S so it is reasonable to think that 2006 very well might be near Soarin.

Good find! I wonder what the address is referring too?

Hmm... This search actually puts it behind Frozestrom.
