I don't have any problem with people who feel that way, especially since they are two radically different attractions so personal preference is going to play a major part in that.

Refurbs are a good thing. Especially when they are given the right amount of funding and time to get what is needed accomplished.
If this refurb allows Soarin' to get the new HD projectors, queue work done to connect the 3rd theater, and do regular maintenance - then it is a welcomed one. If it's a refurb like Pirates or Space Mountain's last overhall... not so much.
Soarin' Over California looks fantastic since it came back up with the new system, so I'm optimistic about EPCOT.

I just go to admire the carpet on the wall, and usually there isn't a line for that even when Soarin is open

6 months? i wonder of the screen shell needs to be replaced? a projector swap could be as little as a week, including calibration... i mean the foundation for the thing is there, you just have to disconnect power and water from the machine, break the old one down and move it out, and bring the new one in and assemble...

Funny you should mention wallpaper.
Did you know that Test Track 2.0 uses the same wallpaper design as Soarin', just a different color. You know, the little raised square pattern.

We were at Epcot on Saturday and the line for LwL was the longest we've ever seen...it was backed up into the seating area of the cafeteria.
