Disney is not about rides...
Um. Yes they are. They are just ALSO about showmanship and theming.

I think we need to remember that D23 Expo isn't the only avenue for these announcements. Timing-wise it all worked out this year, but Disney have other big opportunities to announce things, and I'm sure they will use those.
See everything, this is why we have Steve! Always the voice of reason and optimism. :sohappy:
It's sort of irrational to think that WDW is going to limit itself to only the FL project and Star Tours 2, just because that's all Jay talked about at D23.
While AK may be stagnant for a while (until attendance again justifies the need for more), and this is probably all that will happen at MK through 2013 - we can't say that DHS and EC will be ignored.
We can see that Epcot is gradually getting a minor facelift - with the Innoventions re-skinning and possible removal of the Y2K canopies. So, at least they're showing that they care. WoL Pavilion is still sitting there, and I'm sure there are plenty of Blue Sky ideas for it that we don't know about.
DHS got TSMM, and is about to get an updated SW2, but there is so much potential elsewhere (updated or replaced backlot tour, Muppet stuff, additions/refurbs in Pixar Place, and now Marvel crap).
Like Steve said, D23 was just a conveniently timed venue through which to announce what we all already knew (because of leaks). Epcot and DHS have birthdays coming up, and October is always a good time to release news.
I'm optimistic that the other parks will continue to see some tender loving care - even if it doesn't mean an E-Ticket at each one. The fact that they're cleaning up makes me happy.
