Dear "the South",

You don't want snow. No really, when you think of snow you think of this...

This is what you actually get in the morning...

I've never seen snow in my life, so I won't be thinking about the negative aspects of it.

There aren't really any negative aspects of it, just negative people.

The only real negatives of snow are that the plows can widen potholes, ant roofs have trouble supporting the weight.

Besides that -- not so bad. Most would much rather snow than 30-39 degree and rain. That REALLY sucks.

I usually amuse myself this time of year by living the disney dream through everyone who gets to take a trip to warm, sunny WDW. While it is - 3 degrees here in Illinois, (wind chill of -25), I cannot take consolation by imagining myself down there as it is almost as cold in Florida. I feel badly for everyone that lives there. Of course, by now, I'm so used to the cold that undoubtedly I would be wearing just a long sleeved shirt down there, but I can truly sympathize with their problem.
I hope it WARMS up soon for you. I NEED it to get warmer down there, so I can once again imagine I am there to get through the rest of the winter.

Rain goes away though! And I don't have to shovel that! :ROFLOL:

Yeah - Driving in the snow is tons of fun. Pulling your back while shoveling is another favorite past time. And of course, the ever enjoyable, wanting to leave for vacation but having your flight cancelled due to snow.

Nope - No negatives.

I must be really negative then. Snow was great when I was a kid, but once you have adult responsibilities its a major PITA. I guess I'm a downer for disliking the slippery cold white stuff that has to be shoveled/plowed, causes countless car accidents, makes school schedules a crap shoot, costs tax dollars for cleanup, and turns to piles of frozen brown glop that blight every roadside until March.

Snow is pretty in small amounts once or twice per winter, but give me rain any day.

That's pretty much what we get of it where I live, and I'm fine with it. A couple days a year everybody gets excited about it coming down, and occasionally it will stick to the ground for a day. Just enough to enjoy it without having to deal with shoveling it or looking at disgusting brown piles of it that refuse to melt.

I'm about a half hour north of Atlanta, and it was on the ground (and roads) for a day and a half here. I almost wound up planting my bumper in a Stop sign coming home Thursday night.

Whereabouts do you live here?

around the lilburn area. It's wayyyyy different from LA. on my way to school every morning, I see goats and cows on the side of the road. It's amazing.

We haven't been doing as good this year. Your band is HUGE though.

I know! I'm one of the few who isn't in the band either.

I think you guys will bounce back though. It's always one perfect season- 1-3 bad seasons- perfect season- 1-3 bad seasons. You catch my drift lol

Are you affected by this rezoning?

Don't forget the wonderful time when the snow starts to melt a little bit, but then freezes, and all the roads turn to ice. That's a lot of fun!

I feel sorry for those that planned so far ahead, saved their money in times when money can be difficult to earn, and then having to go through intense security screenings and a somewhat more dangerously time to travel as recent event unfold.

And then after leaving your Underarmor HeatGear home, the wool socks and scarves you get snow, a rental car with greased tires, drivers that have this absolute total ignorance of driving on icy roads and even your lodging seems to lack in the heating, I really feel sorry for you.

Last time I left my home in Alaska to visit the parks it was january 2004, the water parks were nearly deserted but my family had a blast! The lines were less, the temps were in the mid 50's to mid 60's and yet we saw tourists bundled like they were waiting for the re-start of the Iditarod (its a dog sled race here in Alaska) and yet we were in short sleeve shirts, no jackets, no gloves.

But everytime I do leave Alaska I always carry a little bit of moderate winter clothing, at the least a wool shirt. people have fun in the snow, I would expect Disney to make the most of it, who knows this could become a regular seasonal event, snow in Orlando!:xmas:

Walked from MK to Epcot? Wait.... huh?

Not by choice. Management dropped us off at 4AM and left us having to find our own way back to cast services at Epcot while we cleaned up World Drive after the marathon. Ah, the privileges of 3rd shift Disney cast members.
