Instead they are giving people the opportunity to duck outside the gates for a few minutes, smoke, then return to the parks.

Ducking out the park won't be that simple, there isn't really anywhere just outside the tap-stiles they could site a smoking area. I expect it will be some distance away, near the bus stops. It could mean smokers spending 30 minutes or more away from their family to get out the park, back through back check and the entrance etc.

There is no way they could tell you that you can’t have cigarettes on you when they are providing a smoking area at the entrances. That would be pointless unless and knowing Disney I would not doubt it they will sell you one for 5 bucks a piece.... I smoke- I think this is stupid because where are you going to come up with a place out of the way at the entrance? I won’t smoke outside of the area, but I will make a few trips out to smoke. All this is going to do is make the idiots that smoke anywhere they want to multiply though. They don’t stop them from doing that now very often so what is going to change?

That's what I was thinking. Create smoking rooms within the parks, like they have at airports.

If Disney states that you will be removed from the parks if caught smoking just might be enough to defer most from trying to smoke in the parks. Would be hard to look your kid in the eye and tell them why they have to leave Disney. Hey that against federal law spiel has worked on airlines for decades.

You’ll always have a few who decide to break the rules but those will be few and far between. Most adapt.

Then they won’t do it...which is of course is the point.

Like tobacco taxes...the point is to get you to where you won’t take yourself

No, like any other prohibited item that guests try to bring in, they'll get a choice -- dispose of it here, or take it back to your car.

This will just spread it all around the parks b/c a whole lot of the cartridges are concentrated enough now that it takes very little vapor to get the desired affect.

It will probably get rid of cigarettes, though, b/c that'd be next to impossible to hide in plain sight. But, I could use that vape pen all day and no one would ever notice....or ever has noticed....if I wasn't in a designated area.

I notice vapors in the parks all the time. And yes, there is an odor, just not as bad as a cigarette.

This could be minimized if they don't take any bags with them when leaving a park, so much less to check, if anything, on the way back in.

I would guess they would allow you to bring cigarettes and vape mods into the park if they are going to set up smoking sections right outside the gates?
