Trip Report Sixth Sense - " I see a LOT of people" - a Max Trip Report - COMPLETED

2022-10-06 - Disneys Animal Kingdom Park - The Tree of Life (1).jpeg

Hello All
Welcome to my first trip report in almost 3 years.
I will spare you the usual sob story of how vacations were booked and cancelled due to - you know - that thing we do not like to talk about much anymore.

Above from Left to right we have Stephanie (DD) , Tricia (DW) and Cassie (DD) in the front row
And Jordan (SIL), me ( Max, Andrew, Drew, Clarence) and Shane.

The last trip for me and Tricia was Nov 2019 to Disneyland.
The entire group last went in Dec 2018 to WDW.

The 2018 trip was a celebration of Steph and Jordan being engaged (married on Oct 5, 2019)

This trip we have another engaged couple!!
E5313B16-7731-402F-B382-A6130D54B76A.jpeg

Shane popped the question in March 2022 and Cassie of course said yes!

Dates - Sunday Oct 2 - Sunday Oct 9
Stayed at the Dolphin - three separate rooms for the three couples

The title you ask?

Well six people went to WDW and arrived just a few days after a hurricane blew through - we thought crowds might dip - boy were we wrong!!

More to come - thanks for following

We could not book a tour - it was crazy busy for a Wednesday morning - all tours were booked and it took us 30 min to get in (there was a line!!)
So we did a tasting instead - at 10:15am - it was 5 oclock somewhere!!

A fun detour during a busy week

In addition to two very nice restaurants in Lexington we ate at a Hardees, an Olive Garden , a Cheesecake Factory and a Chick-fil-A

All places that are either rare or do not exist in Canada

I will get back to the WDW trip tomorrow

Hello all
I was out of my country (Canada) for the week - travelled by SUV to the Toyota plants in Kentucky and Indiana
It was a successful business trip - learn a lot about the logistics system in those plants.

But of course for those that know me a Max Business trip is always more than just business
I love it! A trip within a trip! :joyfull: Thanks for sharing your photos and impressions of the places in Kentucky, that you visited, while on your (business) trip. It's always fun to experience new scenery and local points of interest (including restaurants, a distillery, etc.)!

We usually have a bottle of Buffalo Trace in our pantry. Glad you got to visit my neck of the woods, Indiana that is. Not so bad if you like quiet small towns. Did you say no Chick Fil A in Canada?!!

Day 5 - Thursday Oct 6 - cont'd

Ok so back to the report

We had finished up Everest and were getting hungry

Mobile order from Pizzasafari ( Steph and Tricia got GF pizza and a bowl) and the rest of use ordered from Flame Tree
We sat down by the water - commented on the great view of Everest and the sad state of entertainment at DAK - with this big theatre in front of us going to waste
(sorry no pictures - maybe my fellow trip reporters have some ? @stephmax975 or @MiniMax

Shopping on the way out - some good shots of Tigger and interaction with Kevin

This was the thing I spoke of early
Poor planning on my part

We drove to DAK in the morning but that would have prohibited drinking later in the day

So we had to ditch the vehicle and take the bus back.

Drove back to the Dolphin and then had @Tuvalu status on the bus ride back

I live in Louisville, Buffalo Trace is a unique place, glad you got to visit. Shane it was so rushed, but at least you got a “taste”. Are there distilleries in Canada?
Yes we have distilleries and wineries in my neck of the woods. One of the two guys I travelled with is a big bourbon drinker and I joked that he was in his Disneyland when we arrived at Buffalo Trace. He confirmed that he will be going back for a longer stay and will be doing multiple stops on the Bourbon trail.

I love it! A trip within a trip! :joyfull: Thanks for sharing your photos and impressions of the places in Kentucky, that you visited, while on your (business) trip. It's always fun to experience new scenery and local points of interest (including restaurants, a distillery, etc.)!
Thanks Minnie - we wanted it to more than just business

We have a few Chick Fil A 's but not many -it was a first visit for me and one of my workmates

I about fainted when he said no Cheesecake Factory!!
We have one that I know of in Toronto which I have been to once - again this was a first time experience for one of my workmates.
And to the best of my knowledge there are no more Olive Gardens or Hardees in Canada.

They were of coursed surprised by the stingers and the water

Shane did not like the spitting

We had to rush over to the Nomad and were able to get an outside table

Tigger was not impressed with the first drinks on the table

Yay for Nomad Lounge, and I never knew about the drinks to go from there. I have learned something important today.
